What's new

So what does tonight`s draft mean for our future?

Why is everyone so ready to trade Harris? He has not had enough time with this team yet, he is still relatively young but old enough to lead our younger players. Oh yeah, and he has been to the All Star Game. Who else on our roster has done that? Memo?

I wouldn't trade Millsap or Jefferson this year. Favors and Kanter are VERY young. I think a good year or two with Millsap and Jefferson mentoring the young guys is great. Both Favors and Kanter will get plenty of minutes. Unless Favors and Kanter show up and simply out play the two vets then you look to move the vets. Favors fouls too much still and Kanter hasn't proven he can play yet.

Man I wish the Jazz had a second round pick. I think there are some solid role players being picked. I think Washington got a steal with S. Mack. Honeycutt went to Sactown. I would pick Charles Jenkins if I had a second round pick. He would be great as a third guard and could be a nice backup.

You'd think the Jazz could buy a pick. Maybe someone likes Raja Bell? Please.

This.

I would hate for the Jazz to trade either AJ or Millsap now (barring an unbelievable offer), and then have to watch Millsap blossom into an elite 3 or Jefferson finally live up to his potential. Jazz should wait and see what they have before doing anything drastic. Wait until the trade deadline to make any BIG moves. Jazz aren't winning anything anytime soon.

Jefferson live up to his potential!? how is a 20 and 10 guy not living up to potential

Jefferson is long as are favors and kanters. Thats oir rotation. Jefferson is not going anywhere. We all love milsap, but i think if kanter can play 24 minutes a game at a high level, we need to move him to fill other needs.

Jazz can get vet role players via FA signings if they want to. They already have pressure to develop a bunch of lotto picks. They dont need to be spending time developing second round picks into the next CJ Miles

Millsap will never blossom into an "elite" 3. He has a tough enough time guarding quicks 4s like Odom or Nowitzki. And on offense, he doesnt have the quickness of an elite 3 to take his man off the dribble and slash his way to the basket. He is a classic tweener.

Why? Because you know for sure that Jefferson is better than Kanter and Kanter won't be able to take the starting center spot from Jefferson?

Jefferson should be shopped because of his contract and his lack of defense. Jefferson has reached his potential. He will never be a #1 option for a contending team. He might be a #3 option for a contending team. Many Jazz fans think that he is the best option for the Jazz and the way that I look at it he is hurting and holding back the possible #1 options for the Jazz.

Someone else brought up the fact that the Lakers allowed for Kobe to grow quickly. There were growing pains and plenty of losses but in the end look at him. Keeping players like Miles and Jefferson around arre going to hold back the quick development of Burks, Hayward, Favors and Kanter. They need playing time and they need it starting game 1 of next year(whenever that might be).

If you want the Jazz to hold steady making the playoffs for the next few years but not developing the talent that they have aquired then keep around ball stoppers like Jefferson and Miles. If you want to take your lumps and look at having a great young core the could possibly contend in 3 or 4 years then trade Jefferson adn Miles and expect a lot of losses. In the end this scenario makes more sense to me. I will always be a Jazz fan but this thought of benching your talented rookies needs to end now. Sloan is gone and so should his rookie policy.

Not winning

Basketball is a team game right!? why on earth would we trade a guy the avg. like 24 and 12 after Dwill got traded and kept us in alot of ball games. as you can tell im a little of a Jefferson homer plus he probably has the best low post game in the NBA he has alot to teach Favors and Kanter.
