So what's wrong with polygamy (polyamory)?

Incest is a weird one. Looking at scholars who study sexuality you will see every culture has an incest taboo, it's pretty much the only universal cultural taboo of any kind.

I'm not sure if that means anything or not, but it seems significant.
 
First of all, DutchJazzer, you're an idiot.

I think the entire argument hinges on whether or not you think homosexuality is a choice. If you do, then the argument that legalizing gay marriage opens the door for plural marriages has merit. If you don't think homosexuality is a choice, then the two concepts are incomparable.

My question is, why would anybody choose to be gay? It seems like the difficulty of leading such a lifestyle would be enough to keep almost anyone from choosing it. However, there are 11.7 million gay people in the United States alone (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT_demographics_of_the_United_States) which almost matches the total world population of Mormon people (https://www.mormonwiki.org/Population_and_growth_rate).

My point isn't to degrade LDS people, it is to point out that most young men from Utah go on missions to present people the choice of becoming a part of their faith. I have never met a missionary with the same purposes for homosexuality.
 
You have met someone who purposefully goes door to door to spread the message of homosexuality? Really??
 
Dutch jazzer is one of the biggest dumb ****s of all time, even in the entire history of the internet. The things he's said in this thread, alone, are ignorant, deliberately offensive, and absolutely ban-worthy. His flawed logic and utter disregard of facts, makes Milsapper almost seem like a well balanced human being. If Dutch had said anything half as offensive about black people, that he has about homosexuals in this thread, he would be out the door.

I apologize for backseat moderating, but seriously... that's ridiculous.

Was going to bring the same thing. I'm equally apposed to both, but I will say this, to me there are a ton of red flags to me when 50 year old men want to marry 15, 16 year old girls.

I see jealousy as one of the main reasons it would be hard lifestyle. I know I could keep at least 2 menz happy, but would they kill each other? what if I screamed the wrong name?

If I was a "sister wife" it would be nice to have the company/help but the others might resent my awesomeness. The husband would have to let me choose the wives or at least get my okay.
