Soccer Isn't A Man's Game And The Amount Of Times They Grab Each Other's Heads And Fake Cry And Fall

i played TONS of football with only a football and some friends. no helmet, pads, football field, end zone, etc.

in soccer you need a ball AND goals to kick the ball into or in between.

Merican football for the win!

Yeah I ve seen that before. As for football, u don't need a goal with a net. All u need is two rocks and a space. You also don't need the ball. You can use pressed can, paper, aluminium folyo or anything that travels when you kick it and u set your mini football match.

Pine cones were the best. My mom would always get angry at me for ruining my shoes.

Btw I always loved the brutality of Rugby, American football and Hockey. So respect for that. But the real football is what is called soccer.

I think one of the main reasons that my American brothers and sisters feign disinterest in the game of soccer is because of all the running. I would say most of the American males on this board are fatties. The thought of running around for 90 minutes send them into a pre-diabetic shock and just makes them crave that bag of hostess delectables sitting next to them on their La-Z-Boy. I mean, judas priest, there have been threads started on the new flavor of a bag of chips. If that's not a Batman like call to the Calvary of the Rotund, I don't know what is.

I would think most of them should follow the example of Mr. Denninger:

US not being that great is best for the rest of the world.

You really want the Lebron's and Adrian Peterson's of the world kicking around soccer balls when they're young kids?

Actually, LeBron James as a tennis player would be the most awesome to watch imo

Believe it or not I have met plenty of Germans who only watch soccer during the World Cup and do so mainly as an excuse to get drunk, and in the normal course of their lives they feel soccer is a waste of grass too, or they just don't care, and some actively dislike it. You have a really narrow frame of view if you think that outside of the US literally every single person on the planet orgasms over soccer.

of course it will never be consensus. but if you think futbol popularity in germany is as bad as in the US then you are flat out lying. i've been to many countries. i lived in london. soccer in europe or south america is like SEC football for southerners. they are passionate. i bet viewership of their countries game would be easily over 25% of the population. some countries might be over 50%. last time i checked Super bowl viewership is about 30-33%.

anyway, my point is other countries watch their country play in the world cup. hell they will watch it even if they don't even like soccer. but here, that's not the case. becuase people like EJ wells. popularity is growing, but it will never be mainstream unless we start winning and become a major force in the world. but definitely it's trending up. soccer fever is definitely there. more than ever before, actually.

Typical dumbass tool bag comment. Not liking soccer means you're not patriotic? Consider me Canadian then.

yes. it's not even about soccer. it's about rooting for your own country.

sports bring people together. 1980 us national team. 1992 dream team. olympics. it's friggin once every 4 year thing yet you don't even bother watching it. nobody follows olympic sports yet every 4 years, people come together and root for athletes who represents red, white, and blue. world cup is the same. it's the global event. it's the biggest event in the world. over 3+ billion will watch world cup globally. if your country is fortunate enough to be in it than i'm sure almost everyone in that country will tune in. and our country is in it, doing pretty damn well. it's a natural thing to root for your own country. and it's a simple game to follow. you watch and root for your country. and hope your team scores. very simple. you don't need to be a x's and o's expert to learn how to watch this game.

it's really sad that we have so many ignorant people like you.

i was in korea in 2002. entire country was wearing red. it was a surreal experience. from a baby to grandpa, all red. hell grandmas wore red. rooting for their beloved country. it felt like they were hypnotized. every word came out of people's mouth was world cup related. do you think all of those koreans follow soccer? women? grandmas? hell no. but they love their country and they loved watching their country perform. they weren't a major soccer power house. they were underdogs almost every match. but they went far in that year. they partied every night. sea of red.

everywhere it was like this.

every street. every day. even in the office buildings. i was there for 3 weeks.

i couldn't understand it because it wasn't my country, but i felt tremendous energy. soccer fever.

i'm not forcing anybody to follow soccer. i know meaningless game can be excruciatingly boring. i can't watch some no name teams playing each other in an empty stadium. and i don't follow soccer. i sometimes tune in big european matches, but i don't follow them. i will watch man u playing real madrid playing in the big house later this summer. but once every 4 year, i tune in and root for the country that i love. maybe you should give it a try and stop acting like you are above everybody else. yes, dude will dive. even bite. but it can be fun if you root for your country. usa should always come first. well at least that's me. us winning the world cup would be truly awesome experience. i want that happen in my life time.

So by your logic, I should be rooting my *** off for team USA in the X-Games, right? Guess what? The ax-Games are lame as Hell too, and I could not care less what country brings home more medals. Soccer sucks, plain and simple. I'm not patriotic because I don't jump on a bandwagon every four years and "root passionately" for players, teams, and a sport that I know nothing about? Shame on me.

It really says something about the USA and their passionate fans when 90% of them couldn't tell you the names of our starting lineup. Bandwagon, ignorant, Lakers/Heat fans unite for our 'Murica!

Rondo as a goalie... sick

Allen iverson and deon sanders as forwards..... goals galore

I do love me some junk food and a nice lazy boy

support your national team!

Uncle Sam wants you!

I like watching US team play football. They are a hard-nosed bunch, a little lacking in finesse and skillz department but making up for that by fierce display of some chutzpah and cojones.
Dempsey and J. Jones were great players, when younger (still good).
