Soon to be Gordon Hayward's Team?

Will the Utah Jazz soon be Gordon Hayward's Team?

If this becomes Hayward's team we are in real trouble. Don't get me wrong he can be a very good, borderline all-star player. But you need to have a team built around more than just one SF that is unlikely to ever be "great".

How many neg reps has that little comment cost you? I once mistakenly compared Hayward to Ronnie Brewer, but thanks to the correction of my Jazzfanz brothers my eyes are now opened and I will never again blaspheme Gordon's name by claiming he will only be 'very good'.

Out of the four young guys Hayward probably has the lowest ceiling, but he has the greatest chance of reaching his ceiling and the quickest to reach it.

Lets see him put a string of games like the one last night together first. Then we can start talking about maybe being an allstar then about this being his team.

Baby steps.

...if his outside shooting doesn't improve dramatically, this will NEVER be his team. In fact, he'll be out of the league before he signs his next contract!

Wasn't he the leader of the Butler team? He's got better leadership potential than Williams...hahah

No he wont. If he continues to get assits and do all the other things he is doing well he will remain in the league.

I see no reason why he shouldn't be the guy getting the offense into gear. That's never been Harris's strong suit (although he has had a few good passes lately).

Set a pick for him on the perimeter and give him at least one 3-pnt threat to whom to kick it out.

(btw, the love for George needn't be conflated with a dislike for Hayward. I wish we had both.)

Wow are you joking. This post really deserves a neg rep. He is hot and cold with his outside shooting for now I will give you that.

Hayward is 21 years old in his first full season getting meaningful minutes in games that matter. Hayward has given us glimpses of what he will do in the league, he is going through growing plains now, but when he gets some more experience he will be great. Hayward has shown glimpses of what he will do in the NBA!!

This is an interesting comment, and here is why; A lot of people still say that the Miami Heat are Dwayne Wade's team and they have perhaps the best player in the league in Labron James. What does it mean to be Hayward's team? does it mean he is the fan favorite, the captain or leader of the team... that is an interesting question. During the Malone or Stockton era, was it Stockton or Malone's team.. or was it both. i think it was both. I think this team can be Hayward's team but the Jazz can still have an Kanter, Favors, or Burks be better than Hayward. I think we are talking more about Hayward's leadership and how he does all the little things. he is a solid all around player and a terrific team guy.
Agree. Hayward is handling the ball quite a bit and getting a lot of assists. Unless the Jazz get an assertive PG, I see Hayward and Millsap as the team leaders. Favors just isn't assertive enough.
