What's new

Sources: Utah has expressed interest in re-acquring Deron Williams

I'd be excited to have dwill back... mack has to go in the deal. I have a dwill jersey that is basically brand new that I was given for free... it's the nice kind. Would love to break it out again. He gets his redemption and we put his statue next to Haywards in 20 years.

I think I'd be happier with dwill than louwill... especially considering the price.

People want D-Will back but won't give Jimmer a chance?????
LOL. If you're the 2nd greatest point guard in the history of a franchise, I think you'll be given more "chances" by that franchise compared to a player that could never secure a job as a role-player on any NBA team.

No to Deron. Just no. The guy ran Sloan off and is not what we need. No to Deron

Sloan is the best but he isn't blameless here... Dwill made mistakes but has always spoken highly and manned up to it... I have a ton of respect for the guy. Made me sad to see him playing on other teams.

I got an autographed old-school Jazz D-will jersey buried in my closet somewhere...I would love to resurrect it.

He's probably a better player than Lou Williams, wonder why there aren't as many interest for him.

There is but he's expiring... u get him for 25 games. I'd have a hard time giving up something great for him.

Lol. Figures....

We got our vet PG in Hill who can defend and shoot better than Deron who would be more distraction than assistance. No thanks

Yeah, and George Hill has clearly been playing through an injury for the last month. We need D-Will (or some other playmaking guard) as insurance for the 2nd half of the season so we can rest Hill if needed so we arent hobbled going into the playoffs.

All's forgiven, great player in his prime, still decent, BUT not a position of need. What happened to all the George Hill love. Won't even ask about the Dante Exum love as that ship sailed around here along time ago apparently. Still, I say trust the process.

He isnt having nearly the year, he is expiring, and he has his own minor/nagging injury issues. His value shouldn't be a 1st round pick to anyone, which will allow us to deal 2nd round picks, which we have a lot of. Dallas on the flip side has no extra pick assets in any rounds, so they should welcome 2nd round picks.

If he's expiring I wouldn't even give up 2nd round picks for him. Especially if we don't intending to re-sign him.

Dallas Morning News - Report: Utah Jazz interested in trade for Mavericks' Deron Williams*

With the NBA trade deadline looming, rumors about which players will be coming and going are starting to fly. Mavericks players are no exception.
ESPN's Tim MacMahon and Mark Stein are reporting that Utah is interested in acquiring Mavericks point guard Deron Williams via trade.
Williams was drafted by the Jazz in 2005, and played his first six seasons in Salt Lake City. According to the report, the 32-year old veteran still has "maintained an offseason home in the Salt Lake City area, despite his trade to the Brooklymn Nets in February 2011."
The report notes that while no deal is in place as of Tuesday night, both the Mavericks and Utah are open to bringing Williams back to his original team.
"Williams can't be traded without his consent, thanks to his one-year, $9 million deal with the Mavericks after he played the previous season in Dallas, " MacMahon writes. "The 32-year-old would have to forfeit his free-agent Bird rights if dealt to another team."
Currently behind Williams at guard are Devin Harris, Yogi Ferrell and Seth Curry, with J.J. Barea set to return to action from his calf strain soon after the All-Star break.
The report does not mention what the Mavericks would receive in return.

I think the toe is a factor for Hill. He evidently needs some time off the foot.
