What's new

Sources: Utah has expressed interest in re-acquring Deron Williams

I have faith that we will bring the man back to Utah. I always loved Deron. I hated to see him go. Was not his fault that a guy who should've retired from coaching 5 years before he did would not get out of his old ways. Deron only wanted what was best for the Jazz. Guy was a ****ing ferocious competitor who got ****ted on by Jazz fans once he got traded. Everyone loved him before the Bulls game.

Yeah, the Deron hate was overblown. You had two alpha dogs who just wanted to win. Neither wanted to change, and both decided to quit on each other.

I find it funny that Deron gets all the blame and Jerry never gets any. I'm sure Jerry wasn't a saint in all this.

Reading the comments on the Mavs forums, they think that we should be trading them either Burks+1st for Deron or Favors+1st for Deron.. the only way the Jazz actually make this deal is if it doesn't cost them a rotation player, and it doesn't cost them a 1st rounder.

I'm still going to guess that we end up doing a 3 team trade with Dallas and Cleveland, where we get Deron, Mavs get McRae+2nd Round picks from Utah/Cleveland, and the Cavs get Mack. It works in the trade machine.

LOL. K.

Are they trading the 2008 version of deron?

While there were obviously problems I don't think the real root of the issues gets credit in how everything happened -- KOC and Greg. I said they were passively driving this franchise into a rebuild -- they did. They reap the largest benefits of the Deron/Sloan false dichotomy.

I really hope DWill comes home today. Huge fan of him as a player and think he can bring a lot to this team. I like the versatility of a guard rotation with Hill, Hood, DWill and Exum. Any two can be on the floor at the same time. My gut tells me it probably won't happen though. Doesn't feel like a DL or Miller family move.

All this talk of Hay and Deron but I thought Joe Johnson is the one that hated him intensely.

Dunno if it means anything for a DWill trade, but Mavs just traded Justin Anderson and Andrew Bogut to 76ers for Noel apparently.

Bogut and D-Will were both held out of practice because the Mavs were expecting to trade them... so I'm still expecting Deron to get dealt today. This is a great trade for Dallas.

Avery Bradley and Gerald Green not at Boston practice. If we couldn't get Crowder in a Hayward deal, I would definitely want Avery Bradley.

Scratch that, they are there just not on the floor. Great example about how the media sucks.

i'll just leave this here...

Man, that takes me back. Those (well some of them) were some of the most exciting Jazz days I can remember. That 06-07 team especially was fun to watch. Not to at all diminish what we've got now, though.

The fact that Deron is not that guy anymore is both good and bad. He's had his injury issues and hasn't really been the same player since he left, but I'm sure he has also learned a lot on a personal level. Makes ya wonder how it would go if he did come back. I always kinda thought he'd end up back here, likely retire here, but maybe that's just the nostalgia talking.
