Hayward / JJ
JJ / Hood / Burks
Hill / Williams / Exum

Neto and Bolomboy finish the season with the Stars.

I'd do whatever I have to to get Favors, Hood and Hill healthy and rested. Even if it means shutting Favors down until a week before the playoffs and getting Hood and Hill (and probably JJ) extra rest.

I know that Bogut and DWill would contribute more than Withey and Mack. . .

It's a 25 game rental and the playoffs. They're free to leave next offseason.

Dallas waived him. He has 48 hours to clear waivers. After that he is a FA and Cleveland can sign him to vet minimum.

I think Philly, Brooklyn, Denver, and Utah (might be a few other crappy teams) have enough space to outright claim his 9 million. It doesnt look like anyone is going to claim him though, so he will most likely just sign with Cleveland as his camp has reportedly expressed interest in doing.
 
Lou Williams makes every shot? Check his averages: very pedestrian. TBH, I'd rather have Hood shooting those 3's.

I've criticized DL and the Millers pretty hard on this forum. I've criticized a rebuild that, IMO, was botched badly. Jazz could have kept Millsap, etc., made the playoffs and still drafted everyone but Burke, Hood and Exum. In Dante's place we'd have ? (~18th pick instead of 5). Jazz wouldn't have had an extra pick to trade up for Burke.

Lyles was not rated as a lottery pick. He likely would have been on the board at ~18. Or maybe DL would have been forced to draft someone who could actually shoot.

Jazz are not competing for a championship this year. Better hope DL gets lucky in the draft and accidentally chooses a player with NBA skills.

While I think this is what ultimately happens, this seems like a DL move to me... pick up a vet for absolutely nothing

It was his pro rata salary for the rest of the year. Cleveland can sign him for vet minimum.

Isn't it just the prorated $2.5 million that they'd be on the hook for?

This may be the case, but the local reporters or whoever should change their tone then because people said he'd like to be here.

Or Jazz didnt want him and it was just a rumor by the media or an agent drumming up business. Or maybe we do claim him or get him after he clears.
 
If he does clear waivers Jazz can offer him more money to come over this year... Could offer him 4.2 to get to the floor. Not sure the pro-rated difference between that and what Cleveland offers is worth it in his mind (would be about a million dollars), but we could go higher and give ourselves a team option in second year too. Would he take a two year $20M deal with second year being a team option or mostly non-guaranteed? Would pay him an additional 2-3 Million this year and give us an option next year if we want it.

I for one wish we would have bakkd even harderer. We never should have brought in Hill,JJ, or Diaw. Hill has ruined Exum's developement, JJ just puts up stats on bad teams, and I'm pretty sure Diaw is a gay. I'm glad DL didn't repeat his mistake.

Uhh. This team would be last year's disappointment without all of the reinforcement that they finally did last offseason by adding DREADED VETERANS.
