Spain Wants Fesenko

Fes takes a lot of grief, but if I were the jazz I would try to sign him cheap and long term. On my 20 year anniversay my wife bought me Jazz tickets to go see the New Orleans game in the ESA. Fes was amazing good and bad. It was one of the few game Fes started and played more than 20 minutes. Fes completely dominated the game. He did not have amazing stats, but he controlled the middle and completely shut down the middle drive. Now he also made some of the most bone-headed plays you've ever seen. He actually passed the ball to Korver while he was standing out-of-bounds. He threw several passes to the ref and not to Jazz players, but there was a remarkable difference on defense when he in the game.

I'll go one further, we don't win the Denver series without Fes. Did he do anything amazing, Yes he did! He made nene a complete non-factor. It was not the blocks, it was his mere 7 foot 1 inch 300 pound presense. Nene would take it in inside and throw it out to the perimeter. Fes owned Nene. In the words of Melo "Fesenko, Fesenko!"

Fes was completely out matched in the Lakers series as skilled big men still give him lots of trouble. However, I for one hope he is quickly signed.

Fes won't go to spain unless they offered him some unreal amount of money and if they did then they deserve him. I think Fes is fine to keep for the right price. That is all.

Whoever wants Fes and wants to pay him more than 2m a year can have him. If the Jazz don't match a offer that is less than 2m, KOC needs to be punched in the gonads.

I don't feel like reading. Would it be Real Madrid and if so, would we then have to concern ourselves that Fes would bash tough ol' Jer and tell Tomic to stay overseas and avoid his crusty old *** at all costs?

No need to get our knickers in a twist. I'm sure a contract will be agreed upon as soon as Fesenko stops jackpotting around with his national team. Until then, why sign him? We still have his rights. No one has signed him to an offer sheet. And if he gets hurt in the World Championships, then we're not on the hook for a few million.

Whoa whoa thread flagged for wanton racism.

I don't think that there is a problem matching or negotiating with Fesenko for a sub-$2M offer. The question is whether he will get more anywhere.

(BTW, I wonder why Minny traded Hollins instead of Koufos--whether it was that Cleveland wanted Hollins more, or that Minny wanted to keep the Boom.)
