Sources: Charlotte still trying to move Spencer Hawes contract to clear additional space for a center. Hibbert and Zaza are top of the list.

Eh?

Depends on what they offer the Jazz. If they offered Hawes and their 2017 first rounder then you do it.

Just pick him up. At worst he's a good insurance piece.

Pass unless they want to give us a pick.

We need another person with legit 5 size for possible injuries. Not a fan of these "versatile" 6'8" guys we're pretending can be centers.

Wouldn't Meyers Leonard be a better pickup? More athletic and better shooter. Can play that stretch 4 and 5. Not the same defender as Hawes but Leonard is young and still has that word Potential tagged to him.

Leonard would be great but his contract is pretty good (around 4 million though there's a cap hit) so Portland will likely keep him. Though he would be just what we're looking for.

Leonard would likely be impossible to be had for any reasonable price. I think I prefer Diaw also, but his lax attitude about his conditioning and the game always concerns me. ESPECIALLY if Pop hasn't been able to fix it.

That being said, if Diaw isn't happening... Why not Hawes? Favors extension/negotiation? Don't the Jazz have another $9 million to reach the floor?

Can't protect the rim, not that good a 3pt shooter. Other than having a decent contract year a few seasons back has really not done much of anything.

And while this shouldn't make a difference the fact that this guy is a obnoxious loud mouth right wing douchebag doesn't help matters much with me either. Maybe if he shot better than 42% from 2PT RANGE last year I could overlook it; but nah thanks.
