Spurs, waiving Jackson.

that takes guts

The San Antonio Spurs have abruptly waived veteran forward Stephen Jackson in a move coach Gregg Popovich described Friday as "best for our group."

yet another thing jazz could learn from the spurs
Utah told Raja to stay away from the team. Same thing.
.
The reason the Jazz didn't just waive Braille was they didn't want to have him sign with another team and be paid twice for being a complete $#@! the previous year. They would have gladly done a buyout had Roger agreed to just be paid the difference between the vet minimum and his $3M salary to date. But Roger wanted the fuill amount PLUS the minimum from another team. Jazz then prevented him from being eligibale for the playoffs by waiting until after the deadline to waive him. And that's basically what the Spurs have now done. SJax can't sign with another team for the playoffs. Good for Pop for enforcing team rules!

I wonder who's in the right and who's in the wrong in that Raja incident. At the time everyone on Jazzfanz gave Ty the benefit of the doubt and simply dismissed Raja. Now that we know who Ty really is, I wonder what the real story is behind that whole Raja VS Ty incident?

Sloan didn't have any trouble playing Raja... it would be very interesting to get a good interview with Bell and find out what the heck

The problem with both Ty AND Jerry is lack of communication. They both believe a player should just shut the %$!# up and never question the coach or ask why. It's been mentioned a number of times that players have no clue what they need to do to earn playing time. How hard is it to have an open door policy and spend 5-10 mins a week with each player (if requested) to explain your thinking about PT or why a certain individual isn't getting in the games.

"Hey rook, your time will come next season" is a lot better than just staring him down game after game, or playing him 20 mins one game - in which he produces - and then giving him a bunch of DNP's-Idiot Coach's Decision the next 10.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was 100% true .. I Can't really see Ty reaching out to the players and giving them a clue about the big picture.. maybe Bell then after getting no input for a very long time decided to take it upon himself to question Ty..... and that only made things worse

Or may be Ty simply has no clue why the PT is the way it is. Hence the part where Ty has never communicated it. May be Raja called him out on that and got burnt doing it.

Sloan was different. He clearly went with the hot hands. When Matthews was tearing it up, he had no problem going back to him time and again and Wes got the start in this rookie year with ample PT.

It's completely possible that they are both perfectly ****ty.

Which explains why Collins played so much. Or Deron sat on the bench behind Palacio. Sloan was just as nutty as Ty. But at least he had some semblance of an offensive system.
