RAID 0 helps speed up conventional drives, but I don't think it would help at all with SSDs.

I mainly did it to get a larger logical volume for my system drive and it does speed them up a little bit, however they are already very fast anyway... so any speed gains are superfluous. They benchmark faster and that makes me feel good.
