Start Mitchell at the Point.

Exum could get there but he’s tough to count on... good backup for now.

I’m not sure Royce is good enough laterally to guard good twos and threes consistently without fouling. I also cringe when he passes up the three to drive... he’s been doing it less but he hasn’t shown ability to create or run pick and roll.

There is something better out there... doesn’t have to be Bradley Beal levels of great but there is a better backcourt fit we can find. Go get em DL.

I don't have that much confidence in Royce being starter quality. Kudos to him for a great game. But he's not been that good in far too many others.
 
PG is kind of a meaningless term at this point. We just want Donovan to have the ball in his hands a lot. I don't think Ricky is a good match for Donovan's skillset because he REALLY needs the ball in his hands to be effective, and he's not particularly dynamic. He doesn't create good spacing, and in fact hinders spacing most of the time. I'm not sure Exum is a great fit either, but at least he has the athleticism to make defenses collapse. I'd kind of like to see them give that pairing a shot the rest of this year before making any decisions. Obviously if a Beal or somebody is actually available you pull the trigger on that and don't look back.

I think the other important thing to remember is that the Lakers defense was absolute trash. Donovan is good enough to get his shots whenever, but he didn't have to work all that hard last night. I think over the stretch of a season it would be better to have 3 guys who can initiate the offense and are offensive threats. Donovan was a good spot up shooter last season, and we want him to be fresh all game. A couple games ago against a better squad he gassed badly in the second half. Multiple attackers is the way to go.

I mean he’s 26... not every player is on the joe ingles development plan... he may get better there but highly doubt he has a big leap coming.

Sure... but my declarations of his current skills was really accurate... he can develop/experiment in practice... don’t bring it out until it’s game ready.

It ain’t like he’s 20 years old out of college... he is likely very close to his ceiling.

He may be a better fit than Rubio... I’d just want to aim higher.

He’s 26, but this is only his second year in the league. Just because he’s older, doesn’t mean he can’t improve, now if he’d been playing at the highest level of the nba for three or four years, I’d agree with you.

Doing things in practice is a lot different then doing things in games. For example, I bet, and have seen Ben Simmons shoot well taking practice threes, but unless he starts taking in game threes, he’ll never get better

Either way, he fits in with the identity of this team. Very good defender, and hitting his threes at a 39% rate. Also he can drive and finish, he was better last year at it ad great at it during the Rockets series last year, just think it’s been inconsistent this year. His overall floor game was much better last year.

The problem this year is he's rarely on. And his defense is worse than last year and his decisions seem worse than last year. I just don't enjoy watching him this year. I really hope Exum beats him back then steals that job for good.

This is one of the only games all year I didn't feel we start the game at a disadvantage at PG to start the game.

100% of your stupid handpicked stats are irrelevant.Rubio is average as hell and Mitchell is a budding star. Rubio just ain't that good. He has been a professional player since he was 16 years old. Mitchell has been a pro for 1.5 seasons.

Against the best or worse competition, I have never seen us play like we did when led by Donovan last night. It was our offense ran to perfection. Rubio doesn't do that. After what I saw last night, Rubio should never start.

Yep - Rubio or Exum. Let the other go. Maybe Rubio can come back in the Neto role if he takes under $10.

Actually, I would make this decision at the deadline. There is no reason to keep Exum AND Rubio. Mitchell obviously needs the ball in his hands more. Many have been saying that all season, but now we know.

Trade Favors and Rubio before the deadline for a good SG, SF or PF.
