What's new

Stormy Seas ahead! Batten down the hatches and brace for impact.

Those are the democratic spokespeople? I haven’t heard from Hillary in a long long time. What kid are you talking about? Is this pornstar a democrat?

Yes they are right now. Hillary is still very active in the news..... David Hogg.... and you're right I'm sure Ms Daniels is a Republican. What was I thinking.o_O

Well... once upon a time I was told I should respect the president. Further back, the man in that office was sold to youngsters as someone you should strive to be like... a role model.

Having a really, REALLY hard time trying to reconcile telling children to strive to be like donnie.

So, amongst everything else, that's what.
Meh. The only difference is that now the media publishes the dirt on the POTUS instead of sweeping it under the rug. You think there hasn't been just as much corruption and ******* going on in the past as there is today? Women have always been snuck in the back door and ****** by many of our esteemed presidents.

I don't think Nixon screwed around - he got off on power, not women.
I don't think Ford, did, either, but I could well be wrong.
Pretty sure Jimmy Carter didn't. For all his failings (Like Nixon, mostly being too smart), he has always seemed to be a model citizen.
I don't know if Ronnie remembered how.
Bush Sr? Probably did, but was quiet enough about it.
Bush Jr? He'd have been happy with a melon and a copy of Big 'Uns.
Obama's pretty famously devoted to Michelle.

This porn star appears to be a tool to try to embarrass Trump now and in the future, whether she voted democrat or not.

Sure. I don’t consider her a spokesperson for any political party however.

I guess if you choose to pay attention to what the people you mentioned say then you might see them as spokespeople. I personally don’t have any idea what any of the three are saying or care what they are saying (never even heard the name David Hogg before) so they are irrelevant to me.

There is also little doubt that this scandal will occupy a serious amount of media attention going forward. It certainly looks like the president benefited from a coverup that helped win an election. And plenty of questions remain: Where did the hush money actually come from? What was Trump’s direct role in the coverup? Who else is out there with similar stories to tell? What foreign intelligence services might know these stories and regard them as leverage?

This type of scandal demonstrates why character does matter in politics. The main problem is not sex. It is a certain approach to public life. Trump feels exempt from the normal rules of honesty and decency. He plays close to ethical and legal lines. And he uses his wealth and influence to shield his embarrassing behavior from view — with hush money, nondisclosure agreements, legal threats and lies from the White House briefing room podium. He forces everyone around him to become complicit in his corruption. Members of Congress, White House staffers, party officials, conservative media figures and religious leaders are all expected to be accomplices. And we are left with a vacuum of integrity at the heart of our government.

Trump has made a career out of paying and manipulating people to be dishonest about him. It is how he built his image as a plausible president, even though he was more of a con man than a successful businessman. This weakness of character is now what moves Republicans in Washington to speak of him as though he were a great leader — bowing and scraping in the hope of getting what they want. Sometimes they do. But in the process they give Trump what he wants: people pretending he is something he is not.

In this scandal, such tactics aren’t working. Trump can’t get the porn star to say he is wonderful and move on. This is the strange, unexpected public contribution of Stormy Daniels.

I agree completely. I wouldn't tell me kids to strive to be like Trump.

I also wouldn't tell them to be like Clinton, JFK, LBJ, and basically every single president who actually had affairs while in office. Bill Clinton stuck a friggin cigar in a woman's vagina in the Oval Office. So this story, while dumb, awful, isn't exactly new. At least Trump wasn't in office when he did this.

On the same page... for once... with all these freaks.

But when you put "Not doing it while in office" on one side. And the act in the first place, the payoff, the cover up, and a possible mob threat on the other side, I'm pretty sure that net's him well below any of those you listed.

I'm glad you're meh about it. But if I ever have kids, I sure as hell don't want them looking up to that guy.

Yes, affairs have happened before. Ex; Thomas Jefferson - many to believe the first president to be an adulterer.

But yes. I think there's been a lot less corruption and filth in the previous years the majority of the time.

I just think the whole "I wouldn't want my kids looking up to that guy" thing is emotional response ********. It's garnered to get a reaction, not make an actual statement.

Realistically, unfortunately, our kids shouldn't view any of these people as role models. There are much better options.

But the reactions from both sides in regards to this and Clinton goes to show the hypocrisy people are willing to stand for, for their "side".

People are dumb.

But the idea that the president is a moral position...well, that's just naive and ignorant.

I've heard very little of what the porn star has to say, but I did catch an excerpt where she said that she was not a victim and that she was getting higher paying porn jobs because of all of this. Her motivation might be a lot different than those who have suddenly become her fans are dreaming of.

If you don't have batteries for your remote control you should just turn off the TV manually. A little less MSNBC and a little more time outdoors and realizing that the sky is not falling would be really cathartic for you.

Perhaps she can be our next game girl!

I don't have kids, but if I did, I wouldn't want them to grow up to be like Trump, Obama, Bush, Carter or any of them really.
her movies suck...

lol. I heard Ben Shapiro talking about her. Something called "Forrest Bump." Hilarious. I didn't vote for Trump. I didn't vote at all in this election. It sucks that the President would be a something of a whoremonger, but then, how many of the players on Wall Street are living that life? Trump was always portrayed as something of a playboy. He didn't hide it. The fact that models are intrigued by him, also shows their desire to be with powerful men, scruples aside.
