Stupid Pet Peeves

$225 for painless walking? Sounds like a bargain to me.

Labor is expensive. A car mechanic is going to be at least $90/hr. So it would make sense that a body mechanic would charge a bit more than that, don't you think?

That would be a good deal. Except that insurance covered a large chunk of it and I assume he is paying a lot of money for that insurance or someone is.

I was gonna post this too.

Holy ****. Is it too late to switch careers?

His post sounded like insurance covered none of it. He thought it would, but he was wrong. So it's $235 + monthly payments. And with your monthly payments, well, the only way you make that "pay" for you is with a very serious injury. It definitely sucks paying, but having to pay a $100k operation out of pocket would suck more.

Anyways, total cost for a doctor to slice open his toe and remove an ingrown nail, + local anesthesia, + more meds and pain free walking is $225. Seems reasonable.

Now if you wanna talk about how hospitals charge $7 for a single aspirin, I'm right there with you.

Well, they're not getting paid that lol. I would assume $25-35/hr depending on the place. It's not a bad gig though, tons of job security.

Two of my uncles ran workshops out of their houses, had more work and money than they could handle.

Medicine has advanced by leaps and bounds in the last century yet when I visit a doctor my condition only gets better due to my visit like 1 in every 10 or 15 times. Yet I have to pay them every time I see them even if they dont actually fix anything (in addition to hundreds of dollars per month for insurance)

Rotator cuff issues/pain? Cortisone shots to hide/mask the pain. Nothing actually fixed. I know the pain will return and I will be no better off. In fact, might even be worse off due to the cortisone injections.

Plantar faciitis? Have to see (and pay) my family Dr so he can refer me to a foot doctor so he can tell me to stretch my calves and roll a frozen water bottle under my foot. (**** I could have just googled) have to pay him too. Foot still ****ed up.

Throwing up all day? It's a stomach flu or food poisining. Just gonna have to wait it out and let it pass. Have to pay him to tell me that. Nothing fixed.

Have a cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose or whatever. It's a virus, just have to rest and wait it out. Have to pay him. Nothing fixed.

Back goes out on me. Go to my family doctor. Pay him. He refers me to someone more specialized. Pay him. He simply refers me to physical therapy. Pay them to tell me stretches/exercises to help it. Coulda googled that ****.

Right now my neck is messed up. Bad. Can't turn my head either way or look down. (I can only look up) extreme pain. Yesterday I took a couple of ibuprofen 800, used a heating pad all day, took a muscle relaxer, and drank some whiskey. Today its worse. I have only taken alieve today.
My wife wants to take me to the Dr but what's the point? I will pay my family Dr so he can refer me to someone else so he can refer me to a physical therapist and in the end I will just have to wait for it to get better on its own with some stretching and heat and stuff.

I don't think I should have to pay for Dr visits if my ailment doesn't get fixed by them or at least significantly improved.

My back pain has gotten so bad that it's gone into my neck like that. It took me 10-15 seconds just to get into and out of my car. Each time, I had to get a shot. I think of Toradol. On top of that, they gave me muscle relaxers. The shot is what really made the difference though.

Also, who the hell goes to the dr for throwing up homie? Obviously a stomach virus or food poisoning. Or you're prego. Either way, unless that **** lasts like 24-48 hours, I wouldn't have been overly concerned about it.

One time I threw up like 50 times in 8 hours or something. I thought I might die.
Food poisoning can kill ya bro. E coli salmonella. That **** ain't no joke.

I got a nasty dose of food poisoning from the hospital cafeteria, got sent home from work, nearly had to get an ambulance back in I was that crook, dehydrated to the point where I couldn't move or lay still without cramping. Took some endone which I had on hand and it broke my fever and I was able to keep down water.

Anyway I think it was food poisoning but I may have been pregnant...

passive aggressive personality types...

My father was very passive aggressive and I have very strong passive aggressive tendencies, but I have worked my whole life to not be that way. My father was so amazing, but that was the one thing I disliked most about him and when I saw it in myself I committed to change it.

Hijacked threads...

I wonder if anyone in here has a pulse, sometimes...... unless I see some real thread hijacking of spectacular proportions..... but then I cave to my passive aggressive survival tactics and just do it myself.

Nothing like normal when nobody cares to be.

The whole click bait phenomenon to go with it. Click bait to get you to the site then require a click per item on the list, or in some cases, more than one click to get past each item. Pay by click models have destroyed the readability of the internet.

and it seems the one that's advertised that grabs your attention in the first place is always the last one in the list

doubly peeving

Great one! I hate that so much. I won't even go through it anymore.
