Stupid Pet Peeves

Take THAT, LDS jerks!

lol...

But seriously, my mom was a waitress when I was growing up. I've worked as a waiter, a short order cook and a prep cook. My sister was a waitress and bartender for several years and while my wife and I were dating she was a waitress and trainer at a chain restaurant. So, just being upfront, LDS folks have a bad reputation amongst those who work in the hospitality/foodservice industry. If you can do something early to make it clear that you don't fit the stereotype you will get better service. I promise.

It drives my wife crazy that I "overtip". The other night we took the kids to Pizza Pie Cafe. I told the cashier to put four bucks for the tip. My wife gasped. At the end of dinner, I looked at the floor around our table and put a couple more bucks in cash down. Damn kids.

*** hats who honk at me for merging right in front of them when my lane ends. Hey **** head, my lane just ended, where the **** would you like me to go?

I really hate driving in Utah.

This does happen in other places, but nowhere near as bad as in Utah. In most places they at least make a space for you to merge or move over. That will never happen in Utah.

Why do they even have those lanes in the first place? I've never seen them work well anywhere. Everybody that knows an area just jams into the other lane anyway to avoid having to merge because it's a pain in the *** when a lane just ends and there's a ton of traffic in the other lane.

yeah, really they should just do away with on ramps all together. everyone get on at the beginning of the roadway or forget about it.

but keep the exit ramps along the way of course...

It's to decrease the length of cars backing up so that they do not interfere with traffic on other streets or intersections. People all piling up in one leane is dumb and completely defeats the purpose.

What people should do is attempt to keep moving and move into their spot at the end of the lane without stopping or acting like anything confusing is going on, because it isn't.

Cyclists who think they need to ride in the middle of the traffic lane, 30-40 MPH slower than traffic. This is why they get hit killed. Move the **** over! You want us to share the road, but you make it impossible.

I agree. But sometimes a cyclist needs to take the full lane because there's not enough room between parked cars and cars that are moving. Riding next to parked cars invites getting doored by an oblivious fellow citizen. That being said, I rarely have issues with drivers. I try to be as conscientious as I can in respect to where they want to go.

What was the total bill?

It's a buffet. My younger ones were free, we had a coupon to get my older ones in free as well. It was less than $20, before tip.

Yeah, it doesn't sound out of line, especially if your kin left a mess.

In regards to SPP's, I hate when I wait longer than I have to to get a haircut. I should have gotten one last week but I didn't.

People who stand at the cash register and sort their bills before putting them in their wallet, all while a line of people wait behind them. You had your turn, now move over so others can have their turn, too.

Boy, looking back at my last peeves, is there any wonder that my blood pressure is something like 1000/800? I need to get the hell away from people.

People who still write checks, and then wait to fill them out until they get their total. I want to pull them aside and show them how to use a debit card.
