Summer 2015: FIBA games of Utah Jazz players

Probably a good idea for France to go small and just pressure the ball more. Belgium doesnt seem to be to capable around the basket.

Belgium finally getting the ball under the rim and getting easy baskets vs. France's lack of interior defense without Gobert.

Damn that was close?

Are there no TO advances in FIBA?

Belgium should have just fouled Parker the possession before.

Seems like Rudy played in front of home crowd - the game was played in the city he was born and raised in.

BTW the other center for Germany has suffered an ankle injury and according to reports will miss the European championship. This will probably give more minutes to Pleiss...

Nice and early for Germany vs Turkey. 7 MT. As Stitches mentioned Zirbes their starting center is injured and out of Eurobasket so Pleiss should see a lot of minutes going forward. Just hope they dont over do it. Korkmaz actually played 26 minutes today vs Latvia and had a good game. See if he will play as much tomorrow.

rudy gobert @rudygobert27

Shoutout to @Ronnie2K for the pic! I let you guys tell me what you think about the rating..

Rudy with rating of 79 on 2K. Doesn't look happy.

The Tuto Marchand Cup starts tomorrow featuring Canada and perhaps the one day Jazzman Andrew Wiggins. Ok maybe not but Hanlan is playing for Canada. It is on livebasketball.tv, but I believe you have to pay for it.

I don't think Zirbes was our starting Center. He just got a lot of minutes in the early prep games when Pleiß wasn't finding ways to score and Zirbes's energy overcame his lack of basketball skills and he ended up actually being productive.

Pleiss scored 8 of Germany's first 10. Turkey taking them to the woodshed right now, however - 35-14 as I type.

How's Korkmaz look? NBAdarft.net thinks his player comparison is Gordon Hayward.

Turkey is gonna be no joke in these international competitions moving forward.

Sorry, no help there. Turkey didn't have names on the back and I'm watching without sound, so not sure who he is. (edit) Kormaz has 3 points at the half.

In regard to Pleiss, I started watching in the 2nd quarter, after he's scored his 8 points. In the 5 minutes that I watched him, he didn't touch the ball. It's the first time I've seen him and have no idea how he gets his points - his teammates never even came close to looking for him and doesn't appear to have anywhere near Rudy's ability to get his own on the offensive glass.

I love how Pleiss rolls hard to the basket.

I only watched the final several minutes of the game, but Pleiss had a dunk in the clutch for the win. Seems like Turkey went ahead in the first but Germany got back in the game in the second half.

Tibor with 14 pts, 3 rbs, 1 blk in 25 mins. 7/7 shooting.

Germany got it close in the second half and then played Pleiss down the stretch. With the game tied at 65 and about 45 seconds to play, a Turkey guard attacked the basket, Pleiss contested, he missed, Germany got the rebound and then Pleiss scored the go ahead dunk to make the score 67-65. Germany won the game 68-66, Pleiss finishing with 14 pts, 3 rebs. His 14 were good for second on the team.

Why the comparison to Hayward? Is he a world-class gamer with a funny haircut? Those comparisons always bring a good laugh. WE don't need another Hayward. Who compares to Michael Jordan? Or even John Stockton - we need a starting PG?

PGAB, Korkmaz finished with 3 points.
He just needed more touches to show his Hayward-esque talent.

The guy who looked most like G-time was one of Germany's wings - Paul Zipser. He's 21, looked to be about 6'7" and very athletic. Only scored 6 pts (one bucket on a very impressive driving dunk in traffic), but that's double what the Turkish version of Hayward scored.

Keep in mind Korkmaz just turned 18. Any minutes with the first team of his country are good for him.

Did he get matched against Ilyasova a lot during the game? How did he do against him?
