Rudyyy cleans his **** up with da block

I post therefore I am...

Big ups to addy for all the updates.
Repped.
Rep da man

Estonia still up with a minute to go. War is inevitable between the two if Estonia wins. Estonia looked like worst team in the tournament earlier.

France scoots by again. No way they beat Serbia or Greece playing like this. They got to step it up. Rudy with the last second jam, hangs on the rim and smacks the backboard. Sure T in NBA.

Another frustrating loss for team Russia...they deserved the win tonight against France. They lost 4 tight games.

France won the game with Lauvergne determining offensively in the 4th quarter. Gobert had a good game but he showed his offensive limits.

By the way, Ersan is also not Turkish. His real name is Arsen Ilyasov.

I read in wikipedia that Semih Erden has Bosniak origin.

If I'm not wrong I read somewhere that Omer Asik has Balkan roots as well.

Anyway it isn't so surprising, historically those lands were inhabited by different ethnicities.

Lauvergne was +1 for the game; Gobert was +14. Kahudi and De Colo also had +/-'s above 10. Only 1 block for Rudy but 4 steals. So 12/10/1/4 in 23 minutes. Not bad.

I also like the expanded info in the boxscore that shows not only fouls committed, but how many were drawn. Two PF's for Rudy against six drawn - the best ratio on the court.

Did you watch the 4th quarter of the game? Lauvergne offensively and Kahudi defensively took it over.

@Diamond77
The "root" thing is something completely different. My grandparents imigrated from Greece but our family was all Turkish. Cedi's one side is also bosnian or macedonian, other side is Turkish. Hedo is fluent in Bosnian and has Bosna roots as well but he was born and raised in Turkey.

Ersan or Arsen whatever you call him, was born in Tajikistan raised in Uzbekistan with almost no relation to being Turkish. Became 3 years younger and became a Turkish boy overnight just because of a Turkish basketball club's greed. Just to dominate youth level leagues and tournaments. It's a scandal and they did that in numerous ocassions. Even now he isn't fluent in Turkish.

Regardless, he's a great character with on point attitude and work ethic. Humble, kind...
We love Ersan so much.
That doesn't change his case was a huge scandal.

Nope. Didn't watch. I'm just saying that for the entire game, Rudy was statistically better. So he probably kept them in the game for the first 3 quarters, which gave others a chance to take over in the 4th. You can't dismiss performance across the first 75% of a game and only focus on the last 25% - or in Trey's case, the last 5 minutes (which had everyone calling him "clutch"). Lauvergne only had 11 points TOTAL. He had 9 of those in the 4th. So for the first 3 quarters he was completely ineffective.

And I'm not saying Lauvergne isn't a good player. I noticed him in the "friendlies" that France played. Was thinking the Jazz should sign him, before I learned he had been drafted. He has decent potential, IMO, to be a very good backup in the NBA.
