Summer League Notes And Discussion

Jazz summer league team is pretty bad. Exum, Mitchell and Bradley are probably the only future NBA rotational guys. Mitchell seemed to be trying too hard. Can't wait to see him after a couple of years in the Jazz player development program. P3, Johnny Bryant, Quin Snyder, etc. he's going to be a monster. Plus, he's likely to get minutes right out of the gate.

Not once since the Jazz drafted Bolomboy have I seen him and went "you know what, this kid can be a legit NBA player".

I am biased because I'm admittedly a Donovan Mitchell fan. But I think he was definitely being keyed in on by the Blazers D as the primary Jazz scoring threat. I also thought he got hacked 2-3 times driving to the hoop that weren't called.

Yeah, I thought that too, but he had a pretty good D-League year. He just looks dumb out there. That, and I think he is trying to hard to play on the perimeter as a spot-up 3 point shooter. His percentages last year say he is good at that, but the shot is ugly as ****.

When Tatum is hitting his step-backs he's really good, but I'm not seeing contribute much in other ways so far. He's been a bit one-dimensional.

I know he chucked a bit and wasn't efficient, but Mitchell made some nice, high-level plays today.
