What's new

Summer League (overall)

Cody Zeller looking good as a stretch 4... I think he could really benefit from playing with Big Al (if he trusts Zeller enough to pass to him).

Dion Waiters should change his name to jack. He just shoots everything.

Tony Wroten shoots a technical free-throw. It sounded like a large plank falling at a construction site as it banged off the front rim.

Nate Wolters is struggling defensively. He's going to get killed by Westbrook.

Suprised no-one has mentioned this guy from Alex Jensen's team:

Stefhon Hannah
6-foot-1 / Guard / Santa Cruz Warriors

College: Missouri

Years in NBA D-League: 3

The Skinny: Defense. Defense. Defense. That's the name of the game with Hannah. As pesky as the day is long, Hannah has won back-to-back NBA D-League Defensive Player of the Year Awards. He averaged 2.0 steals and 5.1 assists this past season, but shot only 34.3 percent from the floor on the way to averaging 14.0 points per game.

He could end up coming to camp to play d on Burke, and follow in the footsteps of other Jazz back-up pgs by shooting less than 40%.

Seriously though, what is Jensen doing with the Summer League/D-league. I thought his hiring as Jazz development coach was official. Maybe the Jazz resurrect their d-league team?

I mentioned the guy in another thread. The DLeague site lists him as 6'1" and he is more like 5'9". He was over 20 in game 1 and I think scored 14 today.

Hannah seems to be a very confident player... a Nate Robinson-like but a bit taller and less athletic than Robinson. Good shooter though.

But on the flip side, Arnett Moultrie really disappointed me during the Orlando Summer League. His bad habits seem to have multiplied and isn't doing what made him good at all.

But then again, Varnado is a ****ing beast. Really hope the Heat give him some PT over Birdman next year.

I love Jarvis.. and agree completely.

The DLeague team is winning but I suspect they have a lot of players that have been around the block and they all know some tricks for being veterans.

I saw at one point Elijah Millsap had scored 10 points while attempting 0 FGA. That was during halftime and I thought it had to be some kind of record.

Brandon Davies has surprised me in the Summer League by focusing on defensive rotations and rebounding. He is covering a lot more ground than I knew he could. He still is too weak to score in the paint but he doesn't look out of place playing. Don't know clippers roster situation in detail but he has a small chance of making the team.
