Suns at Jazz: gamethread

First time I'm hearing about it.

One of the sad things about last night's game other than Horney probably going to get offed before the season is over is Cotton's DNP/CD. But he's had a lot of them with the Suns. He is not in the stat books anywhere. He has not played a second while after being called up.

I love watching Joe desperately try to hold Lyles back. That kid get so pumped.
So many awesome displays here. There are half a dozen guys who were awesome in that clip. Why is Joe trying to babysit Lyles, though? It's like he was prepared for it in advance, too, with his arm already hooked. If Lyles had gotten loose he would have unleashed on that one!

Also Rudy and Dante starting celebration, then it seems like they remember they're injured, and end up grabbing hold of each other trying to stay up.

Maybe to keep him from doing **** like this?

Okay, I will retell the story as remember. At the 2011 draft party.

The night of 2011 draft, after the Jazz were finished drafting a jazz reporter (bowler or Alema, or Steve Brown) interviewing Hornacek asked him one of those standard canned questions something like, " did the draft go like you predicted, were there any surprises?"

Jeff should have said, "No surprises it fell just like we thought it would, and we are happy with the players we were able to draft."

But Jeff didn't, he said, " yes, I was really surprised that Kawai Leonard was still available." But he didn't stop there, he went on, and although I don't remember his exact words, his message was unmistakable Jeff wanted the Jazzto draft Kawai instead of Alec Butks.

A few moments later the same reporter was interviewing KOC. They asked the same standard questions, then said, "when you got to 10 did you consider drafting Kawai?

KOC, irritated but controlled said no, we were happy with Alec burks

The reporter continued, was there any discussion about Leonard, because Jeff Hornaceck said he thought the Jazz should have drafted Leonard.

KOC turned a lovely shade of red, and said, " he did, did he? well I'll have to have a talk with Jeff about how we keep differences of opinions to ourselves, and not betray our team"

KOC was visibly pissed.

Damn, wish Hornacek was our GM at that time.

This was one of our top two or three great games of the season. Jazz were awesome against the Suns. So many players brought it.

Im starting to love lyles. His sideline antics are the best and he is actually starting to contribute in a positive way on the court

I told it like Jeff just said," I wanted to draft Kawai"

But he said more, like "I thought Kawai's length and athleticism would help our team".

We all did Jeff, we all did.

Can you imagine a team of Hayward, Leonard, Favors and Gobert. The Jazz probably wouldn't have been bad enough to draft Exum.

He's starting to grow on me too, like many here when he was drafted I was like Huh Lyles? But he's making ground looks like he's learning the game and his sideline stuff are all positive signs

How in holy hell is the Boris pass to LMA ahead of the Burks dunk? lmao
Yep. And the college dunk by the guy going baseline. It's a pretty normal dunk. The half court shot is not that great. If it were a game winner then ok. Even the #1 play was not a very great catch itself, it was more about the hit afterwards which i'll admit was pretty cool.

Can't believe Burks dunk was not at least top 5

Posting this cuz you kinda see the bench talking to each other after the dunk, and it just straight warms up my heart.

I love seeing our team like each other like this.
