Any fans? Just discovered this show and absolutely love it. Maybe because it is filmed in Vancouver island which I visited few times. Finished 1st season and catching up to second already. I heard third season will be filmed in Patagonia. Just amazing to see what humans can do in such a unique situations and how they cope with hunger, cold, humidity and anything mother nature throws at them. Highly recommend!!!
 
I like it. I think I posted about it in the favorite TV show thread on here previously.... making fun of a guy for freaking out that a bear sniffed his tent. To me though, the show is best early on when there are 10 people around...and they have more material to pick the best of to show us. Gets a little stale when it's just a few people left.

Difference is - you are dropped in wilderness alone. You pretty much self document and film your survival. Some people go a bit crazy after few weeks just from not having anybody to talk with. Plus you do not win any food. You need to eat whatever you can find, catch or kill.

Yeah and he was a cop, lol. Or the dude who said his goal is 90 days minimum but quit in 3 days who kept saying that he carries his gun everywhere and here just did not feel safe without his firearm because some wolves were howling few miles away.

First season it was 10 males and they are all separated by mountains or water. Second season they have 3 females and 7 males.

Watch first episode - you will be hooked!

certainly not 95%. There is obviously some post recording editing but that's mostly it. You can argue that show producers may have favoured somebody by dropping them at better location ( closer to fresh water or food sources and away from predators) but that is hard to imagine as their all living environment is more or less alike. Otherwise I can't see how they can manipulate it... I doubt somebody would go during the night and put fish in gill nets or bring bears, wolves or cougars to the tent while contestant is sleeping.
I would suggest you watch it and then we can discuss details:)

That's not what I originally said. Also, I have no interest in watching the show.
 
It requires a lot of skill and knowledge to survive the concrete wilderness of Vancouver.

So why bet that it is littered with BS if you not even watching at least 1 episode? I liked it so much because it looked so much more different than any other reality shows for exactly same reasons, no BS and manipulations. They guy who was strongest mentally and had best survival skills deserved to win first season without any doubts.

Rainforest of Vancouver island in winter is a bit different from concrete wilderness of Vancouver;)

Because it's blatantly obvious how much producers manipulate these shows to gain viewers. Read up a bit.

It's pointless to discuss it with you as you did not see it. Watch and then we can talk. Point to me at least few things which were manipulated.
 
Just finished second season. Was rooting for Jose, such a positive and nice character. Was so sad when he was forced to quit. Looking forward for third season, Patagonia will be completely different challenge then Vancouver island.
