Survival show "Alone"

Season 3 started this week! Interesting competitors, 3 Canadians, 3 women... Patagonia looks absolutely gorgeous and scary. But man, it looks like fishing is way to easy over there... Here is hope for great season:)

Always bizarre to me how some of these "experts" drop out in a matter of days for no reason other than that they are alone and need to get back to their wife after 2 days because they realize they are missing the new season of Gilmore Girls. It's like....c'mon dude.....you've probably done a couple week long trial runs at worst before the show. You can't even hold on that long? Suck it up, *****. They need to get some homeless people on there or something.

The Black dude looks like the most likely to get into trouble with animals. Dude is curious about every little noise. Hopping out of his shelter at night to track them down.

Alone is ok. There are definitely camera angles and other signs that prove they are anything but alone. My favorite show in this genre is naked and afraid. They make no beef about letting you know the camera crew is nearby but there is also pretty strong evidence they are left to their own devices for the most part. All"reality" TV is heavily scripted and edited to make sure they get a usable product but I've found NaA to be one of the more genuine within their claimed construct.

Yeah, the teacher with PMA ( positive mental attitude ) was such a joke. Why would Britt run at night to check his snare is beyond understanding. Totally asking for trouble.

Interesting observation, can you clarify? I have not seen much of that in first two seasons.

My wife and I binge watched 5 or 6 episodes a while back during a marathon they had if some kind. We both noticed the occasional shot of the contestants feet or above and behind them or in front of them. There was another that showed the guy holding his camera but it was from a camera that looked like it was walking alongside him. It wasn't much but enough we both commented that they were alone except for the camera crew. I couldn't find any screen shots to that effect just remembered it from watching. It was definitely less than in naked and afraid and other reality shows obviously but enough that I really doubt they are entitrely alone. Maybe it's a little like NaA where the camera crew visits the camp site every now and then to get context shots or something and check on the health of the contestants. In NaA they get what amounts to a checkup of sorts about every 3 or 4 days depending on how the team or an individual is handling it.

Very likely. I still like the show a lot. I am just a bit disappointed they showed only 4 contestants in first episode. Quite interested how the youngest kid is doing so far.

Way too many Canadians on the show. Not really, but that newest episode was like the all Canadian show......with that weirdo from Salt Lake mixed in. Liked the Candaian woman - she could be an upset pick due to her background foraging around British Colombia or maybe she's just kind of cute. The Canadian millennial lived up to the whiny millennial stereotype and then some - dude was whining the whole show even before he fell on his own axe. Very Trudeau like. Charmin soft. Glad he's gone. I'm thinking that Canadian dry waller wins it though. His sweet spread shows that he knows what he is doing, he looks like he hasn't bathed or been indoors in 6 years other than throwing up some drywall for some spare cash here and there.....that's the guy.

Yeah, I was expecting way better from young kid... Come man, everybody knows to cover your axe when not using it... And that cut did not even look that bad, not even close to the one that women inflicted on herself during season two. He may have just needed excuse to get out of the situation he was in. I like dude from SLC, think he can go far.

Kind of meh episode...it just amazes me how easy is to catch that stupid Patagonian trout. I would be gaining weight there on that steady trout diet:)

So Britt went home after 35 days...He was really struggling with food and was missing his family too much. Megan shaving her legs with that huge knife was pretty badass...Too bad Greg gave up on trying to outsmart the fox... would have loved to see how he would have prepared it and eat it lol.

Kind of impressive that from 5 remaining all 3 women are still there and thriving. 51 days and counting... it looks like winter is coming so we will see who is better prepared to manage snow and cold.

Is that drywaller - my pick to win it - still there?

He decided to move his shelter to an area with more wood. Unfortunatelly it started raining really badly right after he set up his temporary shelter. He got wet, hypothermic and gave up next day. Still he lasted 51 days.
