T-Mac & Shaq

How good would we be if we signed up Tracy McGrady and Shaq on two year contracts? We would get the big guy at center who still can do his thing for quite a few minutes and with Memo as a backup we would have two different kind of Cs to play at the opposing defenses. TMac could prove useful and the pair would most definitely get some attention on the Jazz that in turn could make it easier for us to sign good players.

mcgrady? that guys has never ever ever been out fo the firts round

first class loser.

shaq of the bench would be okay. if he is okay with his limited role and not demanding the ball etc

I take it your a gambling man? This is a gamble I wouldn't take unless I was high(not yet...)

I really don`t think this is as a big gamble as it might seem. For McGrady this is a make or break season for him and he really needs to play well to be able to keep on earning money off his basketball skills. Regarding Shaq, he just might help us be able to atleast put up a fight against the Lakers. Shaq on the Jazz could show the rest of the world what we all think - that a good big man would propel us into atleast semi-contenders. It would be much more tempting for other big men to come to Utah if they see that we are a legit team. And, how do you defend against a lineup of Dwill - Matthews/TMac - AK/CJ - Milllsap/AK - Shaq/Memo? This looks like a 2nd seed to me...

Not a fan of Shaq at this point. Not sure he's going to be a difference maker, as he hasn't proven to be for the other teams that were almost there, but not quite, who picked him up to put themselves in title contention. He's not the right person to throw into the mix as the Jazz try to figure out what kind of team we're going to have this season.

I think after this off season its worth a gamble. I think Shaq could be effective in the playoffs in a half court game and Mcgrady might surprise us and do very well.

Lets see here.

Shaq went to the Suns, the Suns got worse. Shaq went to the Cavs, the Cavs did not improve.

McGrady is always hurt, McGrady hasn't made a team better for 3+ years.

Where do I sign?

The fact is we are no where close to being there, so why would this hurt?

You do realize it's 2010 right? It's not 2000 anymore. No and no.

You do realize we are running out of options very quickly. While I don't think Shaq could give us much more than a big body, McGrady could be useful. As I said, all depends on the price.

We're running out of options? So we just sign a couple of guys who are way past prime? Why? Sure, Shaq has size, but that's severely diminished in a wheelchair. And Lazy Eye just isn't a winner.

Tmac has nothing left. His skills were always poor. Jumpshot was always on par w/Brewer's.

Shaq sucks.

You people need to realize that it's better to tank for one season than to sign yourselves up for multiple years giving away money to way over the hill players who don't even want to be here. They won't help us much at all in the short term and not at all in the long term.

Shaq is a cancer, he leaves every team w/ a bad taste & TMac may very well have cancer...
