Not if we amnesty him. Dragic would definitely be an affordable guy to look at.
 
Augustin is the most realistic option. Wouldn't give up too much for him this year though, we can simply offer him a decent contract and they won't match. He was averaging 6.6 assists and considering the Bobcats inept offense, that's fairly impressive.
 
I think we need to pursue Marshall in the draft. He's a stud point, pure and simple. Though, if it's between Marshall and Rivers, I'm torn. Rivers has that IT factor. I also love MKG and Miller. If we can get one in each group, we'll have had a great draft.

If we got MKG we need Rivers. If we get Miller we can take Marshall. I just don't love the idea of having Marshall (can't shoot, no quick first-step) and MKG (great all-around player, but can't shoot).

I'm pimping a Rivers / Miller duo. Both have great size for their position (assuming Rivers plays point) and both extend the defense.
 
Option 1) Goran Dragic. Good size, has proven to be quite clutch, and decent assist, rebounding, and shooting percentages with his amount of minutes. Plus he is only 25. Good facilitator for our youth, in my opinion. This would be option #1 for Utah. Throw as massive of a contract his way as possible. Problem is, hell be probably the most difficult to obtain out of the point guards that are reasonably available.
Option 2) DJ Augustin. With Kemba Walker on the rise, Charlotte can't really hang onto DJ. Good numbers as far as shooting and assist go, still young, and it will be interesting to see what he can do on a team with a better structured offense. Not sure how he is defensively, Ive seen very few Bobcats games (maybe someone can fill in for me). He came in the draft measuring up at 5'10", so height is an issue that worries me. He's only 24 though. I personally think that we could get him either through a trade, or through the FA.
Option 3) Aaron Brooks. Poor assist numbers stand out. Don't want much to do with him, but at this point, anything is realistically better than Devin Harris. Prefer options 1 and 2 much more.

We need facilitation from our point guard, not scoring. We have several pieces on our team that can offer a serious amount of pointage on any given night. We need a stellar-shooting point guard who can keep defences honest, as well as a player who can really run a half-court offense. If we can improve facilitation, and our outside shooting, I can easily fathom this team making the playoffs. We are set at the 4 and 5
 
Rondo would be a great fit here. Passes, drives, and consistantly plays great D. If we would take some of the Celtics' other inflated contracts (like O'Neal) and give them Jefferson and Harris it would work. Pairing Big Al, Garnet, and Pierce might interest them...
 
FWIW, I would love Rondo on this team. My choice of PG in the pool of obtainable PGs in the NBA.

I don't think DJ belongs square in the middle of the pack pg spot anymore... After the all-stars, he's next on the list. Once you add in the fact that he's young and getting his assists basically passing to no one and is having to jack up shots just to keep this pathetic offense in the game, then yeah, he deserves a little more than mid-tier these days.

Im a DJ fan, and its not like he's out there playing with guys who are equally as talented to make him better his game. Our entire team except maybe DJ is a bunch of backups. DJ is the only person who could legitimately start for a good team.

Dj is one of my favorite players, if he leaves let him know we all thank him for everything he's done and we'll miss him. He's a solid pg and deserves a good amount of money, his D is sub par but he does other things good. Just keep us updated thank you

*DJ didn't want to re-sign/extend, was actually looking to sign elsewhere after the season.
*DJ and/or his agent offered the number they're looking at for what they'd sign in order to extend with the Bobcats 3y/23.5m
*Bobcats cheap *** front office aren't offering anywhere near that number but are instead offering a much lower amount for him to extend with us.
*DJ feels insulted and will leave if the current offer stands

Consensus from other excerpts seems to be that: He has improved in all facets this season, however his defense leaves a bit to be desired. He has also been classified as a shoot-first PG; however, in Charlotte, how can you not be a shoot-first PG?? Keep in mind, we initially used this excuse for Harris as well; only difference, is that DJ was a great facilitator in college, whereas Harris didn't have that rep coming into the NBA. As far as the posters know, DJ was offered a 3 year $6mill/per year deal. Not bad at all, imo. I think Id offer 7 mill at the absolute most.
 
Charlotte isn't going to re-sign Augustin. I can't imagine why they wouldn't want to get an asset for him before the year is out.

Why wouldn't they let us take him for a TPE? for CJ? Seriously, it should be easy to get this guy.

This is what Im thinking. Use TPE + CJ is a lot better than anything else the Bobcats will probably get, unless the Lakers are thinking or giving their first rounder to them.

****, yeah the Lakers will be another suitor. I hadn't thought of that.
 
For those Dragic lovers out there, he had a +/- of -6 tonight against the Jazz. That says a lot considering that the Jazz hand out career nights to the opposing PG that they play.
