Big difference between judge and talking about a guys potential. Judge is far more of a hard line which shouldn't be taken a couple games into the season.

I haven't been around for a while, but I see people are still trying to convince themselves that Key has all the talent to be an all-star, and that his epic levels of suckage on the floor is just growing pains.
What skills does he possess that would make him a "fringe" All Star? I mean it would be great if that were the case.He has some fringe All Star potential. It may be unlikely that he actually gets in an ASG (see Jamal Murray and Anfernee Simons). Efficiency will determine Keyonte's overall value. However, the Jazz are a dumpster fire right now, and Keyonte gets undue pressure because he's supposed to make something out of it. No excuse for missing this many shots though.
He just doesn't sell his fakes. His dribbling ability and speed is fine, he just telegraphs where he is going and doesn't read the defenderBrice looks like he's becoming a decent spot-up shooter. However, when he tries to handle and create, his lack of speed and slow dribble is getting him in trouble and leading to turnovers.
Let me put it this way:What skills does he possess that would make him a "fringe" All Star? I mean it would be great if that were the case.
He's not shy to shoot off the dribble but he makes those shots at such a low %.
I would feel great about him. Heck, despite all the negative post from me regarding Key, I still feel pretty good about him. Im a glass half full jazz homer though.Let me put it this way:
If Key shot even at league average %, how would you feel about him?
People are holding hope that the shot starts to fall at some point because it looks good. Maybe it wont, but we all should hope it will.

I doubt it just because we're sitting pretty salary wise, worth it just to have bodies for potential tradesThere are a ton of young players not having their options being picked up at the moment. Could this be the fate for some of our young guys?
When is Collier back? I want to see him get minutes at PG, especially some with Keyonte to see how he looks as a secondary instead of on ballHardy went full nuclear meltdown on Key and a couple of others. Clarkson's out at least a week so maybe Juzang and Flip can carry the load. Hardy is still probably frothing at the mouth.
pump the brakes. We all know it'll take less than 4 games before you want to **** all over him. When is Collier back? I want to see him get minutes at PG, especially some with Keyonte to see how he looks as a secondary instead of on ball
Since you mentioned them: Keyonte has 13 PPG, 28%-20%, 4 TO stats so far in his second year. Below are the second-year stats for the players you have mentioned:He has some fringe All Star potential. Even as a jazz fan it's OK to admit the fact that Mr. Keyonte George isn't very good at basketball.Since you mentioned them: Keyonte has 13 PPG, 28%-20%, 4 TO stats so far in his second year. Below are the second-year stats for the players you have mentioned:
Jamal Murray: 17 PPG, 45% - 38%, 2.1 TO
Anfernee Simons: 8 PPG, 40% - 33%, 0.9 TO
I am not sure that Keyonte is exactly on that Murray-Simmons trajectory. So far he has been quite a bit worse. Like, I am not sure if he has any skill that is above average for his position. What is exactly supposed to be his strong suit going forward? Shooting, passing, finishing at the rim, defense, playmaking, rebounding, leadership? He seems to be below average in all of them.
