Talent-Wise, Who Has a Higher Ceiling - Kanter or Favors?

I actually like the combo of Favors and Kantr..they both seem to work well with each other. And I really like the fact that they stick up for each othe, there rough an tuff. But Favors has more upside

I feel like Favors best case is Tyson Chandler. Enes, who knows? He is such a bull and yet has a jump shot out to twenty. Memo on roids!

They both play for the Jazz and I suspect they will be for a while. Therefore, it's less a matter of which is better and more about how they can each play to compliment one another's game. I think they can do that and not have to compete for the spotlight or accolades.

That's the easy answer.

Who cares? This is the absolute wrong question to be asking and the question that needs to be asked in the minds of management is 'who has a higher ceiling: Al/Paul or Favors/Kanter?' Neither will reach their ceiling until Al is moved. If we lose Paul and retain Al, you can bet big we're eyeballing someone like Elton Brand to 'fill the void'.

Gross

I have no doubt Kanter has the higher ceiling. Favors is a DeAndre-Ibaka-Chandlerlight with better offensive potential. Kanter has ridiculous offensive potential and has enough drive to work at least adequate on defense.

Kanter has the highest ceiling of any Jazz player. This from a Kanter doubter (I actually had a thought today of Kanter being another spastic Araujo --who I liked a lot for his ethic -- but yeah, no, Kanter ain't that. At all.).

Ceiling ceiling ceiling rah rah rah

Very good. I like most answers (minus those who say 'who cares'). Before this season I would have said Favors, but Kanter has been playing much better than last season.

Both are so young it's tough to gauge their ceilings, both offensively and defensively, but I wanted to ask the question, for some of you have great insight.

I have to go with Kanter as well, Favors obviously has the athleticism edge, but Kanter has more offensive tools. Franchise/top players have elite offense. Having said that, I hope they both stick around for a long time.

If Kanter can play great PnR defense, and then add that to 18 and 12.... ****, braugh.

Favors.

I love Kanter, and always have (unlike some of you), but if I could magically make one of them reach their absolute potential by tomorrow, it would undoubtably be Favors.

Yeah agreed. It's not a knock on Kanter. I think he can be great too. My pre-draft posts/predictions can attest to that.

But the physicality of Favors alone is just ridiculous. That's something you can't teach. It's like Dwight + Amar'e all rolled into 1. But whether or not he can learn the skills necessary to utilize that potential is another story all together.

I mean.. look at what Carl Landry can do with his body... Favors still has a long ways to go.
