House Plan
You'd save $548

Senate Plan
You'd save $415

Well, it won't be a Ferrari. Maybe just a Buick, which is what I already have.

I lose $1300 on the House plan. Save $6300 on the Senate Plan. I am all for getting rid of the AMT.

Here you go, what is your savings going to be in fantasyland?

Here is mine:

That's it, I am buying a Ferrari!

That calculator seems pretty accurate. I've been going over 1040's all weekend and reviewing the tax code, plus using other ones afterward. My personal savings from this one match my own tax estimation (I don't know my exact rate) and that of other calculators.

This tax plan is utter bull ****. Run the numbers for a single mother of 2 making $22,000 per year on a Walmart salary. I get a benefit, corporations (in many instances) and the massively rich (in many instances) get a benefit, but those in need get nothing. To me, it is utter horse **** to help those not in need and ignore those who could actually use assistance. Welcome to American politics (I'm staring at you Social Security).

And the single mother of 2 is the one that would take 100% of her benefit and put it back into the economy whereas the other groups may or may not.

Makes no sense.

While corporations could basically "pay for everything" we live in a global economy and those corporations can leave the U.S.. I'm not saying we need the lowest possible corporate taxes, just that we shouldn't have abnormally high corporate taxes, we need to be comparable to other potential destinations for corporations.
You got his joke this time too, right? I guess you're just responding to his sarcastic comment as if it is a real comment for the benefit of people who might think his suggestion was serious.

Yup. I'm already fully braced for market corrections/failures... I've slowly pulled back a lot of my money. There is no way I'm flushing my tax savings back into the market. Sorry. But true.

Hey joe, [edit out].

This.

To add, extra income for those who don't need it often goes into housing, which will do nothing other than build another bubble. If you can afford another $300 per month in housing payment then housing prices can increase by $65,000 under current rates. People will either buy bigger houses or the market will dictate higher costs. This, of course, doubles down on screwing the poor and needy.

Hey joe, go **** yourself.

It makes me laugh when people complain about being taxed less. Oh no having more money will put us further in debt.
Try running a business when your taxed to the point where you almost have no take home salary.

Ok, but do you think poor people should be taxed less and get more money too or just the rich and business owners? (See the example of how the single mom making squat doesn't get the same tax breaks as others)

Orrin Hatch: I have a rough time wanting to spend billions and billions and trillions of dollars to help people who won't help themselves, won't lift a finger and expect the federal government to do everything.

Now Hatch is a dyed in the wool republican, that's fine, he's always struck me as a reasonable guy - but this comment is what I'm complaining about. Forget the fact that it is glaringly inappropriate being we are talking about INCOME TAX REFORM. In other words stuff that impacts WORKING people that somehow also "won't lift a finger" but it reeks of the implication that if you're an adult and make less than 25K a year then you're less a person.

This is a Trump - like statement and class warfare from a guy who quite frankly is above it and should know better.

How much do you think the single mom is actually taxed? It's almost nothing if she files her taxes. In fact she usually makes money when income taxes are reported. So yeah it's hard but you have to be reasonable.

You didn't answer my question.
Do you think the poor working class should get better tax breaks under the new tax plan or just the rich people and business owners?

So nate, looking at what I quoted above from franklin, you don't see any problem there?
