Tayshaun and Prince available

This is what it sounds like when doves cry.

I think many of these hypothetical trade threads surfaces an interesting question: is becoming a legitimate contender worth toxic contracts?

It seems as if most people's priorities seem to be not becoming a contender so that in the next 3-4 years we can get bumped in the 2nd round rather than the 1st.

.

Provided it gets us over the hump. I am not sure the current versions of Tayshawn or Rip can do that. Our problem is more interior defense not perimeter defense. I'll still take Tayshawn over AK and Rip over Miles from a strictly basketball point of view. But in this case, I am not sure that for the kind of money invested in these guys, they take us past the Lakers or even put us on par with them. I might revise my opinion though if Tayshawn and Rip have great seasons this year. Heard that the Pistons owner is trying to not accumulate salaries so that she can sell the team. Maybe we wait till mid-season to see what happens. If AK is having a great year keep him. If not, dangle him for those guys.

Well, can either of those guys match up against Odom, Gasol or Bynum?
We need a 5 or a big 4, plain and simple.

**** no for either. Prince sucked last year, and Hamilton will only get worse with time (and he wasn't especially good last year, either). There's a reason they're both available.

The only way I would be convinced is if the Pistons throw in Daye or Jerebko, and even then...

Maybe, MAYBE AK for Prince, but the Pistons would have no interest in that. In fact, the Jazz don't really have anything (besides Deron and maybe Jefferson) the Pistons would particularly want.

...I was thinking they were maybe 5 million a year players so it would be 10 million and 2 players for 17 million and 1 player! Prince and Hamilton are virtually bench players at this point in their careers....and shouldn't be making more than about 5 mill per year. So, I'm with you...OUT of the question, OUT of the question!

Prince/Hamilton/Maxiell for AK/Okur works...not saying i like or dislike the idea...just fyi

Williams/Price
Hamilton/Bell
Prince/Miles
Millsap/Maxiell
Jefferson/Fesenko

Prince/Hamilton bring some championship experience. just sayin
