Team starting to crack

Watching the Lins/Kings game, at least we aren't Sacramento. Watching game strictly to view how bad they are so I can appreciate our team.

When Miles' minutes dipped to single digits for a few games, he came back amazingly improved. Of course he's slid back a bit by now.
Kanter AND Burks both deserve more minutes. Kanter has already shown to be a much better defender and rebounder than Millsap in his limited minutes. I'm wondering how a backcourt of Bell & Burks would work, with Hayward facilitating the majority of the offensive sets. Both Millsap & Harris have been out of sorts the last few games.
I am for focusing on defense, not just against some opponents (like Memphis), but vs ALL opponents. THAT should be our identity, like the old Chuck Daly Detroit Piston teams. It was our defense that won that Memphis game in such impressive fashion for us more so than offense. That should have taught our guys (and coaches) SOMETHING!

Look up Miles road #'s vs. his home #'s. That is the difference. He is god awful on the road, and really good at home. The differences are insane. Same goes for Big Al.

Everyone else is the same on road/home (some are better on road marginally) but Al and CJ really dip when they aren't in Utah.

I do not see Kanter, Watson or Burks that way.

Kanter isn't soft by any means, but I don't really consider him that tough. He is kind of like Lenny from Of Mice and Men. He has immense strength but doesn't really seem to know how to harness it yet. If that makes sense

Burks isn't really that tough.

Watson is tough, true.

By the way, anyone noticed when Millsap was shooting FTs after the first shot out of 4 players only Hayward connected with him. Other than Gordon no one even tried.

I feel bad for Corbin. Right now he is in between a rock and a hard place. He has quality vets (on paper) and is being told the Jazz are trying to make the playoffs. He is being pressured to play Jefferson, Howard, Harris and Millsap. I am sure he understands better than any of us the limitations of those players. I am sure he sees, better than any of us, the potential of some of the young guys. But what happens if he benches the vets, plays they young guys, we lose a ton of games, vets complain and Jazz management (Greg) whine about how we could have made the playoffs? Corbin is without a job.

Makes me wonder if Corbin is playing Harris, Bell and Jefferson so much to force a trade...

I think it's more because he wants to win. IF he could get Sap, Jefferson, and Harris to all play to their potential we have a decent lower playoff seeded team. I think if the team continues to go south, he will eventually give up on it and go to the youth more, but for now I think Corbin wants to see if his vets are just going through the motions.

He can borrow my contacts.

Wow, a couple losses and everyone is freaking out. I'm willing to suffer through this year.

Remember when Ty was a COTY front-runner?

The Jazz exceeded expectations and now expectations have changed just in time for the Jazz to not meet our new and unrealistic expectations.
repped. I am back to the expectations that I had at the first of the year.

With all of our frustrations and yearnings for changes that give a quick fix, consider that Raja has been through the ringer around this joint. Now he has the highest fg% of his career and is shooting over 40% from 3. What a shame we didn't amnesty him!

I won't be surprised if they turn things around like they did after the first 4 games. What happened is cause to lower expectations, but we still have the team that has played some great games. Good teams have bad losses and bad teams get good wins. OKC lost to the wizards and Kings, Hornets just won their second in a row. It will be interesting to see how this team responds on friday and after the all-star break. There are a few players that I feel are too competitive to stop fighting. I believe there will be a resurgence at some point this season.
