Forgive me, I'm not a capologist, but aren't we still like $8 million below the salary floor? Did the Hill and JJ deals take care of that?
I'd be willing to bet there is another surprising move or two yet to come
So... is it a surprise, then?
Technically we haven't done the Hill or JJ deals yet. They aren't official until the 7th when the new cap takes effect.
I'll bet we see 1 big added. DL probably wanted to see a couple of SL games to assess the progress of Lyles and Pleiss.
I'd say more Pleiss than Lyles. I think Lyles is set as the back up big due to his play last year.
But I think watching a few SL games leads to DL taking action and we see a back up C brought in with Withey the third C.
Pleiss shipped out.
I worry about the 4/5 spot. Lyles will be promoted to take Bookers place as #3 big, but who take Lyles place as 4th big?
If we're sitting with cap space near the trade deadline, there might be expirings and draft picks to be had if someone needs to work out a deal for Westbrook or someone like that, I'd imagine.
Looks like it's Boris Diaw. One year rental to get to the salary floor. Additional veteran presence with positional flexibility. Spurs background. Seems like a solid move for next to nothing in compensation. Doesn't handicap the team moving forward contract wise. Good trade.
We facilitate another championship team by taking on there garbage? Cool!!!!
You honestly believe the Spurs wouldn't have been able to get this cap space if the Jazz had refused to make this trade? How stupid are you?
It was going to happen one way or another. Might as well get better ourselves.
Cool another 12 year old calling names. You think adding a player they averaged 6.4 points is worth wasting 7 million for next two years on is good idea?
I love this defeatist attitude of so called Jazz fans. I am a real fan an I want to shoot for a title.
