Cruz assured Trump even bigger television ratings tonight than he would have otherwise gotten.

Mr. Trump told Cruz to do this to create controversy an even more media attention on Trump. He is a brilliant marketer an my thanks go out to Cruz for throwing himself under the bus for Mr. Trump.

I didn't watch the speech mostly because I'd rather watch paint dry instead of listen to his annoying whining voice. However, I am not surprised by his action since this is exactly the type of behavior he has demonstrated before. I am sure Ted thinks he was standing up for his principles because Trump criticized his wife but I would have respected him more if he just held a quick press conference stating that he was standing by his word not to support a person who attack his wife. Ted loves the drama and spotlight too much so he spoke at the convention to draw attention to himself.

He is delusional if he thinks being more conservative is the answer to winning a national election.

Totes. I'm less convinced he was doing it out of conscience, more convinced he calculated Trump couldn't win and postured up for a future run. I'm not sure he calculated Trump would talk smack about is wife and father, but he's sure capitalizing on it.

Calculated or not, I don't think it was fake. He doesnt like Trump so he won't support him. Are there more motives? Maybe, but I dont think he did anything against what he wanted to do.
