I've never understood deactivation. About the only value there could be is to let others know you're gonzos.

Some people probably still want to browse the site(or even just need a few days/weeks to break the habit of coming here) and just don't even want the temptation of logging in and getting caught up in more arguments that might creep into their actual lives. I could imagine somebody getting a heated argument on the Internet....and then not being able to sleep after that because that's all thinking about....and that screws up their whole next day. Or being pissed off at work or whatever. Or being mean to their girlfriends. etc. I don't think a lot of people have that switch where they can just be like.....oh well....Internet argument......who cares.....on with my day....and forget about it 5 minutes later.

That's why I did it.

As far as Jamez, He chose to join a forum that asks you to reevaluate what you think or at least defend it. Many of you have posted things that have altered the way I look at the world. I am glad that discussions on here don't end in "we'll have to agree to disagree" or "I have a right to my opinion". Jamez didn't like being challenged when he said something that people thought was bogus so...he chose to take his ball and go home. It says more about Jamez than it does about JazzFanz.

I have no problem with in depth discussion. I encourage it. But that's not what always happens.

There is also a noticeable trend of mocking and simply being jerks to differing opinions as well. He isn't the first to say this and he won't be the last.

I don't really get deactivation either. But it's what he wanted so we obliged. Either way it's over so whatever.

So it's not okay to disagree vehemently with someone who hates people based on the way they were born?

Some opinions are so cringe-worthy that to not mock them would be irresponsible.

I agree. Not all opinions are to be respected. Ive said that on here before.

Y'all want to act like sometimes we arn't jerks and assholes just because that's fine.
