Teodosic supposedly on his way

Adding Beverly makes us better defensively and he fits the best. His salary is a huge benefit to us in building the other parts of the roster.
 
Jeff Hornacek was terrible defensively and could barely walk down the court.

Being able to shoot is a rare gift. You make people like that fit.
 
so it sounds like Teodosic has pretty much confirmed he's leaving ... where will he end up ?? We'd better pick up a pretty decent player before July 1, will he be it ??
 
Horny lacked the physical characteristics of many opponents, but was a decent defender. He played smart position D, played the passing lanes really, etc. Definitely not a terrible defender.

Since he's a free agent, we would have to wait until the free agent signing period, i.e. on or after July 1.

The only way to get a player before July 1 is via trade.
 
We'll not sign him. This is about lowering Hill's price.
Teo won't sign with us. This is about him asking more $ from CSKA.

Two things wrong with this.

1. Horny had physical limitations, but played like he cared, and still played a physical brand of defense.

2. Just because u can shoot doesn't mean u are going to be good or even make it in the NBA. Exhibit A. I give u the Jimmer. There isn't a sweeter J around, and yet no one wants the Jimmer, and no one could make him fit. They all tried and failed miserably.
 
I remember that final year Horny could barely run up and down the court, seriously. But he got minutes because he spaced the floor on offense.
 
Food for thought.

As bad as he's been on defense in his own league, the NBA i a whole new beast. His defense will be even worse with him guarding the bigger stronger faster athletes in the NBA, and we want to give him 8 million? I don't care that he can shoot and pass. How will it translate to the better league. We just don't know.
 
I'm all in on Beverly and re-signing Hill.

He is only 28 so he will fit age wise with our core.
Just landed 1st team all D
Career 37.5% from 3 but the last two seasons he has shot 39% from 3
Makes about 5.5 million a year.

Do it DL!
