You weren't very well liked. But with your help, you brought playoff basketball back to Utah. Sure, much of your time here was disappointing - but you did provide me one of the greatest moments I've experienced as a fan.

Beating the Rockets in that game seven on their home floor will most certainly go down as one of the greatest moments in Jazz playoff history.

I still remember running around my house during the closing seconds of that game. It would have never happened without you.

Amen. I love the man but I can't root for the Bulls after we get swept by the Lakers in the first round.

Bulls were already an elite rebounding team. Now this.

Damn, this blows.

Not only did he help bring the playoffs back to Utah (the Jazz missed the playoffs in 2004, 2005 and 2006), he brought playoff winning basketball back to Utah.

Prior to their 2007 series win over the Rockets, Utah last won a playoff series in 2000 - against the Sonics.
 
I'm gonna miss Booz also and that game still is one of the most awesome moments in recent memory...nearly blew up that dumb clutchfans site which in and of itself made it priceless. At the same time, while Booz was an integral part, he didn't do it by himself. A lot of the same guys are still here...I guess the Jazz didnt feel keeping him would be enough to get us over the hump and certainly injury concerns and Millsap's contract had to do with this. Granted, there's really nobody out there that'd just get us past L.A., and I feel we're a better team with Booz but, i guess after giving AK and Memo long big money contracts only to see them get hurt, probably left them weary. Anyway, best ofl luck to him, i really don't harbor as much ill-will as many others.

On the other hand, Fisher can go screw himself. Just figured i'd throw that in there, always bears repeating.
 
jazzfannut why even bring up fisher...I love the jazz but jazz fans are classless towards fisher..Just my two cents..I was glad when reggie brought it up..All these players like each other and are a fraternity so guess ask jazz players if they think fisher lied?

No, we just hate the Lakers. He didn't lie...just embellished. If that makes me classless then fine, i'm classless.
 
Boozer's Game 7 performance against Houston was one of the top-5 playoff performances in Jazz history. It wasn't just the numbers, it was the competitive greatness he exhibited (doing your best when your best is needed) that even Karl Malone struggled with in elimination games. Two separate stretches the game appeared to be slipping out of the Jazz's control and both times Boozer went on a dunking barrage (in the 2nd qtr) and then back-to-back 3-point plays (4th qtr), and of course 2 big offensive rebounds and the FT's down the stretch.

I really thought he would become one of the top-5 bigman in the league after that season, but he struggled in the playoffs the following year and suddenly the Jazz were Deron's team (rightfully so) and Boozer never made that jump to franchise player.

Still, it was a great signing by the Jazz and he helped get us back on the NBA map. Hated his defensive shortcomings but I really liked his offensive game, his footwork and his offensive repertoire. He could grab 10 rebounds w/out breaking a sweat.

Watching him and DWill run the pick-and-roll was a thing of beauty, I'm going to miss that most of all.

Yeah, Boozer helped to bring the playoffs back to Utah after he had been here for two years (rolleyes). Then again, he played only an average 42 regular season games in those first two years :|.
 
Good luck to you Boozer. A selfish guy even by NBA standards, whose first goal was to slack on the defensive end to catch his breath, stay away from foul touble and stay near the basket to get the rebound, and he always, always padded his offensive stats. That meant more to him then anything else in basketball. $ 80 million? The Jazz should be so happy he is gone.
