What's new

That block by rudy against melo doe

These ****ing depressing losses are really starting to depress me.

I'm probably the biggest Booker apologist here, but what the **** was he doing out there in the 4th quarter this game. Snyder really blew that one.

Remember how the W's pissed away games in the 4th quarter when they needed to lose to keep their pick? Feels like the Jazz' goal is to get a top-10 pick this summer.

we'll find out soon if the FO care about making the playoffs, if they really want to get to the playoffs they'll have to trade for a shooter. If they don't then they're just building for next season

Either way people should stop the woeful moaning, we have 3 starting calibre players out. Still looking really good for the next few seasons (provided Booker and to a lesser extent Neto aren't on the court next season)

If the Jazz refuse to make a move to improve the team during this season-off-season I think I might lose a lot of desire to keep watching this.
I'm already noticing I don't really care about losses as much as I use to.

Booker, 0-4 (27 minutes)
Lyles, 4-7 (27 minutes)
Withey, 2-2 (9 minutes)

Smd
Withey should play more. Especially with favors out

I think we are just fine. We are playing scrubs and still almost winning. Name another team that starts 2 rookies, a sophomore, and a 3rd year player.

Booker is offensively terrible

Ya and he pretty much only takes wide open shots and layups (other than his 10 foot spinning hook shot last night smd) and still can't make a good percentage.

On the season Booker is shooting 42% from the field (career low) and most of his shots are dunks, layups, and undefended wide open jumpers.

That's pretty Damn sad

Withey is shooting 53% on the year.
They both rebound about the same (10 per 36), their assists and steals are about the same, withey blocks allot more shots.

More withey less booker please

Trey lyles is shooting 47% from three!

I've never seen a season like we're seeing from Booker. If that guy shoots 35% from three this year and builds on the other things he did on offense last year, then he's getting a 8-figure salary next year. So, plenty of incentive. Instead, he's completely lost his offensive game. If he were in the NFL, he'd be stuck on special teams; so one-dimensional. It's time to see if we can get a second-rounder out of him by sending him to a contender who might want a junkyard dog on the deep side of their bench.

Yup Booker is gone this off season. The Jazz will not try to bring him back. They will sign Withey for another 2-3 seasons I believe.

Gobert/Withey/Pleiss
Favors/Lyles
Hayward/Ingles
Hood/Burks
Exum/Burke/Neto

That is 12 players under contract for next season.

The problem I have with letting it cake and pies for so long is that we are going to start running up against contracts ending. Hayward has a player option after next season.

yes our guys need to develop but it is time to start adding the right pieces around the talent we do have.

Due to his contract structure, I don't believe Withey can be extended. He'll hit the open market after next season.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Unfortunately.

On the booker front, I think the Jazz really like him despite weaknesses. I hope they are right and we are wrong, cuz he should be cheap. Though, this offseason people are going to be pissed with deals in general since "cheap" will be a lot more money than it was in the past.

You're right. Which is why I said "They will sign Withey for another 2-3 seasons I believe" instead of extend him.

I think he's a minimum player next year... maybe a bit better. I don't mind him as a fifth big making the minimum, but I'd rather use his contract to get something useful.

I like Withey, but I'm not that worried about resigning the guy. Just going to enjoy him for the next couple years on the cheap.

your post clearly implied you were talking about the organization's action for this offseason. At least, to me it did. And this offseason is what we were talking about.
