Looks like there will be better actors but seems very similar to the Tobey Maguire films.

They should have gotten Christopher Nolan to do this series. ;)

Hated the first person video-game cutscene

Pretty blatant Mirror's Edge rip-off.

I disagree with Beantown about it seeming darker and edgier. I'm not sure whether that will be a good or bad thing, but I'd say it seems a bit less happy go lucky than the Tobey Maquire version.

Sooo...it's just like the other Spiderman movie...but with different actors? Why?

I used to love Spiderman. Spiderman & Jazz basketball...I was such a boy.

Interesting.

They left out the park where Green Goblin kidnaps the blond chick (probably Gwen Stacy instead of Mary Jane) and then she falls off something (probably a bridge or something) and he saves her.

"hehehe, out am I?"

BOOOOMMM!

What's sad to me is that the early 2000s movie has better special effects than this one.

I see it as a money-grab, plain and simple. I don't know, they might pull out something great that the first one didn't have, but I can't see it in the teaser. Either way it sure does seem pretty soon for a remake. What's next? Remake The Incredible Hulk.....again?

i dont care really about marvel they kinda suck. wish dc would trade superman for wolverine.

probably will watch the movie one day

You all realize that they had no choice but to reboot, right? Raimi refused to work with Sony after they took his creative imaging and essentially directed the final movie for him. Spiderman 1 & 2 are easily two of my top 10 films of all time, but they're doing some great things with this reboot. Just because the two minute TEASER trailer doesn't show you the dark, edgy side of things doesn't mean that isn't how the movie will turn out. This trailer is simply there for the sake of letting us know that it's coming, "teasing" us. The whole outline of the film is quite different from the previous trilogy, and this is more than apparent if you read up on it. Any similarities are due to the simple fact that it's the same studio. They're also going back to the real Spiderman story, which I'm extremely excited for. Nobody was more disappointed to me when the Raimi series dissolved, but this reboot is destined for some pretty great things. It might be worse than the last trilogy, it may turn out better, but so far they're delivering in the wake of the Raimi era, despite the fact that it was their fault things went sour.

I just can't wait. Every series needs a reboot every ten years.

They didn't reboot because they wanted to, Sony was going to continue the series, but when they totally took away Raimi's job in the third one he jumped ship, and then main characters followed. This is a reboot because they had every intention to continue the series, but simply couldn't because they lost the vital cast and crew members. It's the same studio, they just forced their own hand when they decided to sabotage Raimi. It's like when the Jazz traded Deron and decided to rebuild sooner than they initially intended because they knew that they were going to lose the face. They simply decided to move forward as a franchise by starting from the ground up with new parts, not just to make an extra buck.

This is a movie, you know what is going to happen.... NBA is not. Really what is the point of remaking all 3 movies whether there will be a 4th or not?

SM2 was possibly the best comic book movie ever made.

Great villain, very good special effects, plenty of comedy, and tons of action.

SM3, might have been the worst. A dude that weighs less than Mary Jane should never play Eddie Brock/Venom. Nor should stupid Harry Osborne have half his face blown off either. And the black suit didn't give Parker a EMO haircut. Lame.

I'm willing to give this new spiderman a chance. But they have a lot of work to do.

Doesn't look that great imo.... then again, a lot of the super hero/comic book movies don't look that great to me.

They are following the comic books way more closely in the new ones, FWIW. For example, Spiderman invented his own web shooting device after becoming all spider like...it didn't just start shooting out of his wrists.
