I don't know what you are talking about. From what I've read, he did want to be here. It was KOC in June 2009 who said to him that the team was looking to go in another direction.
First, not sure if this is an attempt at sarcasm, but I am going for the you are really serious about this angle. And I am in the mood for ranting anyway. So bear with me.

Here is Boozer's exact quote from ESPN:
"I'm opting out. No matter what, I'm going to get a raise regardless," Boozer told ESPN.com. "I am going to opt out, I don't see why I wouldn't, I think it's a very good business decision for me and my family, but I'd also like to see what happens with the Jazz and stay here."
I do like that he threw in the "like to see what happens with the Jazz" crap at the end. It is not exactly a huge confidence builder on your team when one of your star players says in the middle of the year that he is opting out.
Interesting thing is, if he really wanted to stay with Utah all he had to do was NOT OPT OUT. He throws away the $12.6 mill he could earn by SIMPLY AGREEING TO STAY WITH THE JAZZ and instead states unequivocally that he is opting out...a mere oh 9 months before he can.
Opting out means it is his choice and his choice alone to run the risk of leaving. If he seriously thought KOC was going to jump for joy and his opting out and offer him a much larger contract than he already had guaranteed then he was not thinking about the "business decision" he forced the Jazz into by opting out. If he wanted to stay here he would have lobbied for an extension, and thereby a raise, from the Jazz. Instead "I am opting out".
NOT opting out means he stays, guaranteed. Yeah sounds like he sure wants to be here and it is all KOC's fault. Give me a break.
