The Best Albums of 2010

Spoons album was the worst of their career.
Recovery was 38?
"Ready to start" and "We used to wait" are good singles. The suburbs didn't grow on my quite like I thought it would.
Still an solid album.

The National should have been a lot higher. In fact I liked thier record as much as any on here.
Superchunk are back?: Who knew. I'll have to check that one out.
Always been a fan on Robyn. My one pop obsession.
Deerhunters record was good.

All in all kind of a down year :-(

I have an addition to make to my list. Just tonight I discovered that Jimmy Gnecco released a solo album in 2010. For those not familiar, Jimmy Gnecco is the lead singer of the band Ours. He is one of my favorite singers. He has a really great voice.

Okay I have one more addition to make to my list. I'm not sure how I forgot about this album: We Are The Fallen - "Tear The World Down". It was definitely one of my favorites. It was so great to have Ben Moody back in a rock band.
 
Of course, Invented, by Jimmy Eat World should be added to this list. First couple of listens, I wasn't sure, but it's an album that really grows on you (on me at least). Overall, superior to Chase this Light, approaching Futures, while still lagging Bleed America and Clarity. These guys just don't write bad songs IMHO.
 
The Lonely Island. You just can't go wrong with stuff like I Just Had Sex and **** In My Pants. Throw in some Akon and you're sure to have a hit that will set you for life. In stone.

As far as the hip-hop genre goes, i thought it was light years ahead of Kanyeezy's pop-reminiscent collaborationextravaganza. Big Boi clinched hip hop album of the year IMO. As far as album of the year goes im nto well versed enough in the music of some of the contenders in order to make that judgement. Certainly shouldnt go kanyes way though.
