Certainly not a decision that would be made lightly. But they had to have something fairly specific they were hoping to find. I wonder what that was?
If he had been "cooperating" and yet they felt the need to raid his home then I imagine they believe that he was withholding something or misrepresenting something (aka lying) and that the proof was there to be had.
I'm still not holding my breath until he is indicted.

Because they falsified FISA warrant applications, worked with foreign powers to influence an election, set up a bunch of patsy morons in a plot they created to kidnap a democrat governor, and buried the Hunter Biden investigation. Many on the political right no longer see the FBI as law enforcement but rather Democrat party goons with badges.

But these are serious victories. The right better hope that nothing bad happens to Clarence Thomas’s old ticker. Dems are looking to gain seats in the Senate. They’ll be able to easily replace any conservative on the Supreme Court.

There are real issues with how politically partisan the FBI appears to half the country, and if these issues have reached the level of being voiced by our elected representatives including at least one of the senior members of the Senate Judiciary Committee then it is unwise to ignore it.

Article two says that prosecutors failed to get a conviction in the governor kidnapping plot. That has noting at all to do with the FBI working for the Democratic party and doesn't even really tell us if those two are innocent.

Being duped by Russian intelligence is considerably different than discovering a thing is disinformation and still continuing to use it as a justification to continue what you are doing. As for the opinion of the Republican Senator, Grassley is on the oversight committee with access to classified information and speaking on a subject for which there is abundant clear evidence already in the public domain thanks to Hunter forgetting where he left his laptop.
Half the country being of the opinion the FBI has a political bias is serious. Trump is widely disgraced already and so I don't expect the raid on Mar-a-Lago to move the needle much but going forward if the FBI gets caught doing pretty much anything to DeSantis I think the wheels will fall off.
