What if I don't?
^^ Awesome
I mean comon he took the fight to help the card. Moving up weight to help the card. Fighting a guy beneath him to help the card. Not knocking the guy out in 10 seconds to help the card. Given all that he still dispatched the guy in the first round. I believe it was the fastest fight of the night. Oh no! He danced around for like 30 seconds.
"Holy hell the sky is falling he sucks balls!!! And screw anyone that thinks that is entertaining. Go watch something else. I am supreme toughguy UFC nazi!!!!!"
CONAN;406824 And you're off on Jones. He fights quite often (some say too often). And Silva was not scheduled to fight but volunteered for 153.[/QUOTE said:yeah jones fights quite often but why not break sonnens carreer.
it's easy money. money in the bank right.deny that fight because his manager or trainer siad it will be the biggest mistake of his life. so what a champion who does not fight anyone anywhere?
silva did volunteer for the fight. but how often does he fight he is just a punk. i hope vitor belfort fights him. and silva stands to the cage like he did vs bonnar with big john refereeing.
It is weird for someone to hate on Silva and love on Guida.
I disagree to an extent. I would rather they have the attitude of wanting to fight anyone. But I wouldn't say at any cost and take on all challengers. As both Jones and Silva has shown, there isn't much for talent beneath them I don't blame them for not wanting to fight fights where they have nothing to gain but another chump beaten down.
As far as fighting each other, I'd like to see more of them wanting that (with GSP in the mix). But it's similar to Pacman/Mayweather. If you are going to fight the mega-fight you want to win. And to win you want to do things that help your cause. For example, fighting at your prefered weight.

Jones and Sonnen to coach TUF 17 and then fight for the title.
Guida sucks and is a coward.
No, that's dumb. I can understand taking on legit contenders but not just any moron who decides they are the next best thing. Then you're not a true champion, in my humble opinion. A champion takes on any and all comers, no questions asked. If you think you're the best in the world, then prove it. If you lose one of those gimme fights, ala GSP vs. Serra, you'll likely get a rematch in which you can obliterate that person and reclaim your throne. Dodging fights is pathetic.

I agree with that but that's not what you said. You said ". . . takes on any and all comers . . .". So thanks for clarifying.
And I don't know that I'd call it dodging someone when they suck and Silva knows he can beat them easy. That guy trains as hard as anyone. Why waste that time on some chump he can finish in 10 seconds? Why do you think he messes around so much in the ring? It's cuz he's bored and I don't blame him. His competition sucks. So what if he wants to entertain a little and mess around. So what if people don't like it then knock his @#!*% out. Until then he can fight however he wants.
No question I'd like to see him angle for better fighters. But that doesn't mean he should jump weight classes randomly (GSP, Jones). There has to be give and take.
And also I don't like the "I won't fight my friend" thing. I think when you get into this business you have to sacrifice that for the good of the sport. Complete BS.
I think guys like Silva and Jones will fight any decent competitor within their class. But why should they risk fighting each other if they have to compromise their ideal weight? That plays a part.
But let's be realistic. Currently they make more money apart than together. The key to these super fights is always money and Dana knows that. So he has to pony up major cash to make this happen. And he will and it will happen and I think fans will like it and pay money and then you'll see more and more superfights like Jones/Silva, GSP/Silva, Jones/Dos Santos and so forth.
Because the loser of these superfights loses star power and that's where their money is made.
And then when the classes get some depth this issue will go away. But for now, it's a business dominated by an elite group of top dogs.
