I get that nothing will turn the cult against Trump. They’ve invested too much to admit they were wrong. But I do wonder if Elon might provide us with an opening to hurt Trump and these fascists. Few people like Elon and his greed and bigotry is just so over the top. He’s like a bad Bond villain.

I remember during the first Trump term he’d help Tucker distribute crazy conspiracies (based on racism) about how blacks were slaughtering white farmers and taking their land in South Africa. He’d also recycle some of Fox News’ bigotry about white replacement theory. In just the last 48 hours, look at what he’s tweeted and retweeted:

Should the president of the United States be doing Nazi salutes and spewing anti-Semitic hate? Should his mother be calling people retards? Is that okay to say these days?

Imagine if Democrats had a billionaire shadow president spewing this type of hate. Wonder how the media would react? It’s time to make Musk and Doge liabilities for Trump.

It’s weird to me that many think he’s got their best wishes at heart. “The elites are ripping off we common forgotten man slobs so therefore let’s give the world’s richest man our personal data and a ridiculous amount of power over our federal government and economy. This definitely is gonna work out for the best…”

I just keep coming back to racism and resentment. People ignore all the massive (economic) conflicts of interest that Trump and Musk have with “the working man” in favor of the very obvious racism and grievance. A large segment of our population don’t actually care about economics. Or at least they don’t care about it as much as they care about hurting those they hate. “Sure, Musk and Trump are gonna kill my social security benefits and enrich themselves with tax cuts, but at least blacks, immigrants, and those snooty libs who’ve lectured me for years about how awful Trump is will take it up the *** worse!”

I think it's a bad idea to fire people with such glee and to flaunt it onstage with a chainsaw. Maybe when you are firing people show a little empathy. Maybe don't call people parasites. Maybe people don't like how it seems like he bought the position he got. Maybe some people like some of the agencies that he is taking a chainsaw to. Maybe people don't like the idea of him messing with social security, Medicaid, medicare, veteran affairs etc. maybe people don't think we should get rid of oversight and regulation that stands in the way of the wealthiest being more corrupt. Maybe some things sound good like shrinking the IRS until you realize that the wealthiest have teams of lawyers and accountants and people are realizing that less IRS just means that they won't have time and resources to go after the worst and most powerful abusers and instead will target easier and lower hanging fruit (middle class and the not rich). Maybe don't act like a Nazi and then joke about it when you are called out.

Well Trump has the solution to that, deport everyone that disagrees with you or maybe just have them all go live somewhere they can be watched carefully, like a summer camp. Or a camp of some kind.

Maybe a camp that has high density occupants? You know, with high concentrations of people that can be used for slave labor? And anyone can be stored in at this location, political enemies, critics, people we don’t like, etc. Has this ever been tried before?

You're missing the important social dynamic, the people in the vanguard of MAGA are by and large petty bourgeois, this was overwhelmingly represented in the Jan 6 arrests. As we are seeing in the current regime, the true believers are the rump of your society who are utterly hostile to the idea of government.
