The Block/Dunk (Video)

Did you see Turiaf's block attempt? Looked like a six year old kid trying to jump up and knock the ball out of his 18 year's brother's hands. Jeremy just jumped up and waited for him to go back down!

Too sweet.

Did my eyes see correctly? Block, Dunk, & then swats the pass away under the basket on the other end?

I was watching this live and when he took off I was almost certain he was too far from the basket to dunk, I thought he was drawing a foul...the kid has hops.

For me the best part of the play is that as jeremy is landing you can see Burks, Kanter and Carroll right there. So even if Evans backed it off you still have a 4-2. Love seeign these kids getting it together and as a group they are dominating people.

I thought it was pretty funny when Burks did the post-dunk celebration for Evans while Evans ran back and played defense.

My god, I want a poster of this dunk, with the image that is freeze-framed at :06.

I wish there was a way to get him 5 minutes a game just so he could do something like this every game.

I like how the real clippers players on the bench have no reaction to them getting owned while the scrubs on the sideline are like Oh ****!

Jeremy Evans' dunk did not break the Internet, but there's still plenty of time left in the day. What they're saying: https://bit.ly/T1SuNO

EDIT: That's from Bill Oram.

He's got a link to a Business Insider's article on the block/dunk:

This Blocked Shot-Dunk Combo Might Be The Most Amazing 20 Seconds Of Basketball You'll See All Year
Tony Manfred

It's only the preseason, but Utah Jazz forward Jeremy Evans has already turned in one of the best plays of the year.

Last night against the Clippers, Evans blocked Ronny Turiaf's shot, dribbled down the court, tomahawk dunked on Turiaf, SPRINTED BACK DOWN THE COURT, and deflected a pass to prevent an easy lay-up. All in 20 seconds. Here's the clip, further analysis is below:

Now, here are the four most amazing things about this play:

1. Evans (the arrow) is under the basket when Turiaf (the circle) squares up his shot. How in the world did he get out there in time?

2. LOOK HOW HIGH HE IS ON THE BLOCK

3. He dunked with his off hand (h/t the announcer)

4. He beats every single Jazz teammate back down the floor to deflect the pass after the dunk. Reminder: he had just beaten all his teammates down the court to tomahawk on Turiaf. He essentially ran two lengths of the court in 20 seconds, and in that time had a block, dunk, and deflection. You won't see more hustle all year.

Amazing.

I also like the title of the Ball Don't Lie (Yahoo blog) post about it: "Jeremy Evans is now the majority owner of Ronny Turiaf."

Na man..... when have you ever known Evans to miss an in-game dunk?
The kid could probably be a star if Jefferson would get out of the way.

Funny how I mentioned starting Evans at small forward a couple years ago, and everyone around here scoffed at the idea.
Obviously we didn't have Marvin at the time.
