The Caravan

So me,datjazz and NPC are Nazis? Gotcha. All because he said Soros gave money to the caravans. Wow

I hear it can be tough when you finally recognize you're a Nazi. But you can still join the force for good and broadcast your contempt for Trump.

Uneducated moron. Read up about Nazi Germany and get back to me.

Now tell me how many people I have killed over a religion. It's less than one.

Not only have I read up on Nazi Germany I spent a lot of time there among nazis(my family- step-grandfather, great uncles, etc.) I used to ask them questions about the war and how it could happen. It was very traumatizing for many Germans(but not nearly all) and their children post WW2 as they came to grips with what their country did. I have witnessed these conversations among my cousins, grandmother, etc. many times over the years. We've discussed Trump too and they can't believe we've fallen for a similar con man. It's a slippery slope when you follow a fascist. You start to make excuses for all sorts of stuff.

I explicitly said, twice, that I didn't think DasJazz is antisemitic, but we've already established you aren't great at reading comprehension.

Edited out due to extreme visuals

I hope I don't get in trouble for this but some of you need a wake-up call to reality. This is what you are accusing your fellow posters of.

My point is that by referring to Trump supporters as Nazis I'm not advocating that you want to starve and kill children. Nazis followed Hitler and thought he was doing good things for Deutschland, so they excused a lot of his behavior. Until they realized he was insane and what he had done.

So he's not a Nazi. You agree with me. Why are we arguing?
You tell me. I pointed out what he posted was an antisemitic conspiracy theory, and I think you disagreed with that without engaging in any of my arguments furthering that position, so.

I disagreed with the uneducated idea that any poster here is a Nazi. You supported the idea that people here were. As far as the Soros thing, I don't have a clue if he gave money to the caravans but saying he did has absolutely nothing to do with the murder of millions of innocent Jews. Nothing.

Now a simple yes or no. Is anybody here a Nazi? Is wrongfully and ignorantly calling a fellow poster a Nazi acceptable?

My position has been that if you traffic in white supremacist talking points you can't cry foul when someone calls you a Nazi. I do think it's unhelpful because it derails the conversation, as it did here. People get their feelings hurt and cry about it, instead of learning about why what they are posting is being characterized that way.

Using the same rhetoric against an actual holocaust survivor that the Nazis did leading up to the holocaust (that evil Jews are using their riches to destabilize the homeland) is bad, and should be called out for what it is.

So yeah, I don't know if DasJazz is actually an antisemite, but that's never been my contention in the first place.

I asked if you thought he was a Nazi. It's not a difficult question. Yes or No.

Oh so I'm obligated to answer you, while you ignore my posts. Cool cool.

I said very clearly I don't think he's an antisemite, I guess this makes four times now. so that would probably preclude him from being a Nazi.

Your turn, is the George Soros conspiracy theory antisemitic?

Using racist or Nazi as permanent pejorative stamps on certain posters heads is virtue signaling and counterproductive. Coincidentally, I was just reading a review of a new book published this month. It’s called “How to Be an Antiracist” by Ibram X. Kendi. Most people can acknowledge that racism is pervasive throughout many aspects of society. The question is what to do about it and how to ameliorate it. Kendi argues that it’s not enough to not be a racist or to simply label others as racist. You have to be proactively antiracist, which can mean finding ways to communicate with people that might say or do something racist without putting the label on them and shutting down any hope for common understanding. Sounds like a good read and some good advice.

Sounds boring. Imma call these ****ers out.

It's not just racism though is it? It's Trump's fascist tendencies.

As most Italians and Germans after WW2, Trumpists will need to blend back into society soon enough.

I honestly don't know, that's an honest answer. I don't think he meant it that way in the least. I've heard that theory many times and never thought of Soros funding the caravan(I don't know or care if he did) as a Jewish thing. To me the theory was that he used his money to help these people flood our boarders as an Anti-Trump agenda.

I do find it absolutely disgusting to compare someone saying that stuff to some of the most evil human acts in history. People constantly complain about Trump's rhetoric but is see zero difference in that sort of hate filled rhetoric to what you guys feel Trump says. To me that's what calling him a Nazi is hateful. You even agree that he is not. The Nazi poster said that in hate and bigotry.

You can call me illiterate and I can call you childish but calling someone something as grotesque as a Nazi crossed a line of extreme hate. Not only that it's completely false and downright stupid.

That's fine, I mean we've provided plenty of evidence that shows these Soros caravan theories are rooted in antisemitism but you are free to draw your own conclusions. I also don't think it's likely that DasJazz meant to be antisemitic when he brought it up, but as I brought up earlier that's why it's important to learn the history behind those attacks. It's not productive to call him or you a Nazi, which is why I don't do that.

But you could stand to learn a little about the history of pre ww2 Germany and the propaganda that was targeted towards the Jews, and how these conspiracy theories echo that same rhetoric, by design.
