So, obviously, there have been a lot of 'Trade Devin Harris' threads lately, and deservedly so from where I sit. He's awful in general and particularly this season. We all know that. But acquiring an all star point guard is no easy task, and we all know the reasons why. What we need is a point guard who can run the show capably, has a handle, can drop some dimes, be efficient, protect the ball, score proficiently, and hit the occasional 3. Well, I looked at some stats on NBA.com and ESPN and I think Kyle Lowry fits the bill. Here are his stats from this season:
PPG: 14.7
APG: 7.6
RPG: 5.7
3P%: 37%
EFF: +19.56
PER: 19.7
AST / TO RATIO: 2.36
Contract: 5.75 mil over 3 years
Age: 25
Granted, he's the starting PG for the Rockets, but they have both Jonny Flynn and Goran Dragic backing him up, so it's not like trading him would be off the table (though maybe trading him to the Jazz specifically would). Either way, he's a name that hasn't really come up too often on this board, but I think he's one that we should consider.
He's in the top 10 in the League in assists and even rebounds some. He seems pretty durable, as he has not missed too many games per season throughout his career. Could be a good, overlooked option for our Jazz.
