So, I just watched Burke light up VCU-- He played well and though he had some turnovers, he is has the highest assist to TO ratio in the country this year. He ended up having 18 and 7 if you were wondering, but what is more impressive to me is his ability to run the team, which is what the Jazz need. If you look at Chad Ford's Lotto+Mock Draft, he has the Jazz getting Burke every time at 14. https://espn.go.com/nba/lottery2013/mockdraft

This is quite exciting to me because i think Burke's skills will traslate to the NBA. in fact, I think he is Chris Paul-lite, which is still pretty good, considering that Chris paul might be the 2nd or 3rd best player in the league right now, with a PER of 26.22.

I have considered that of the 14 teams in the lotto, you could argue that 3 teams need a PG: Utah, Dallas, and Sactown. However, Marcus Smart would likely be a top 3 pick, and I could see Orlando taking him. That would leave Trey Burke and Michael Carter Williams as the 2 quality PG's left in the draft and still Sactown, Utah, and Dallas need a PG.

If we lose sunday, Dallas will be ahead of us in the standings. I will be rooting for us to play well but to also lose on sunday to the mavericks becasue we are talking about the future here... This season is over. (I do not think there is anything wrong with this from a fan perspective because if you are not getting in the playoffs, and losing a few games gets you a player that can potentially make you a legit team in the west, than why wouldn't i want to lose a few games in an already over season so that we can actually have a PG THAT CAN RUN THE OFFENSE. i AM SICK OF MO WILLIAMS!!! i DON'T WANT C.J. MILES PLAYING PG WHICH IS WHAT WILLIAMS= AS A PG.)

Portland could also pass us, especially if we lose our remaining two games to them. I'd be happy with this. I am worried that OKC might take Burke becasue they need a playmaker and if Burke panned out, They could have Burke play the one and westbrook the two to close out games. However, Jazzforever made a good point in reference to this:

"They have Westbrook and Jackson who is starting to break out. They will probably go big with Perkins sucking worse every day and also eligible to be amnestied"

Ultimately, I think the Chances of the Jazz getting Burke at this point are pretty good becasue i think Dallas will actually pass us in the standings. If we get Burke, I will tell you this: He will be our PG of the future becasue he can shoot, he can drive and kick and he can control the Tempo. If you are a doubter, be warned. Chad Ford, the great Chad Ford, himself has said that if he were a little taller or a little more athletic, he's be a top 5 pick. Right now, I am thinking our chances are pretty good.

He's a very good player, but one also has to take into effect that he is surrounded by athletic slashers and shooters. That will always help a PG. Definitely one of the best PG's in this draft though, I'm not a huge fan of Michael Carter-Williams. He's essentially a taller Kendall Marshall that plays better defense. In the NBA of today, you need to be able to shoot the ball to be an effective guard, and Carter-Williams can't do that.

Hayward burks and Burke would be an incredible backcourt. Throwin Carroll and favors and those guys will greatly benefit from burke's ability to drive and dish. Unlike mo, Burke doesn't look to always score. Sometimes the hero isn't the guy chucking up shots

Watching Burke play today during my break. He seemed pretty good, but his size worries me. Is he big enough to be our guy?
I loved how large Deron was. He was so strong, and thick. Burke looks so small.

Ty Lawson and Isiah Thomas on Sactown are both undersized but still pretty good, Lawson especially. A guy who is better than Thomas but not as good as Lawson might be what we have to hope for picking at 13-14. and Burke has atleast an inch on both lawson and Thomas.

Well according to NBADraft.net 2013 mock draft the Jazz would pass on Burke to draft a white 6'11 PF/C out of Duke & the Bucks (who clearly need backcourt players) would take him #15.

I don't really see this guy staying where currently projected. I expect in the month or more leading up to the draft he ends up projected top 8.

Agreed.

It's always tough to determine where PGs will land before draft workouts.

I think his stock will rise once he starts to work out for teams.
