More minutes = more touches. Not starting = less minutes = less touches. Burks should be starting.
The biggest issue for me is who is getting minutes over Burks. Jefferson and Willams should have fewer minutes. They aren't the future. Lucas should get 0 minutes. If it was possible for a player to log negative minutes I would have Lucas do so.
Regardless, Burks should get more minutes (minimum 30 mpg). I actually disagree that he needs to start. He could come in at 6 minutes in the first quarter, play with the starters, and then lead the bench, which needs a scorer.
For many of you who wouldn't remember, Thurl Baily had the sixth man role after he started a couple seasons. The team and Thurl were better with him coming off the bench. Ginobili does the same thing for the Spurs. Playing with the bench squad will give Burks more touches and opportunities to score, which the bench/team needs.
If Burks starts, Corbin needs to change his substitution pattern and not have all bench players in at once (which I don't like anyway).
