The Church of Jarrell Brantley

I’ve seen enough of him through these two preseason games. He doesn’t belong in the G-Lwague, he belongs on the roster.

Pls discuss. We got a Rolls Royce, now we need the Brentley.

When are we going to see the churro church of Brentley? I fear that I may at one time or another may drift away to another player that has churro tendencies...

One argument for Brantley is that he can guard big, athletic wings. The Jazz were going to match him up with Zion, but Zion got pull out the game during the same substitution. But who would you rather see try to guard Lebron and Kawhi, Brantley or Niang?

In any case, the Jazz should keep both Niang and Brantley and move someone else, like NWG, to the G-league. The Jazz can also put Oni in the G-league to get more minutes to develop, just like they did with Grayson Allen last year.

A totally crazy ask to join the Church of Brantley due to an overreaction to a player who is shooting 25 percent from the field and has generally looked a little lost at times? Count me in! :)

Where do I sign?

Brantley needs a month or two in practice and the g league to learn the system and refine some things. Like the goaltend play was awesome, buuuuutttttt I’m fairly sure that shot wasn’t going down and where he got it it was almost certainly going to be called.

having him ready for spot duty against playmaking bigs at the end of the year would be the goal.

To me he looks less lost than Grayson Allen who was after 4 years at college and supposed to be able to contribute right away.

Brantley needs a lot of time with the stars. Hes super raw and needs a lot of time learning how to play in a offense.

But even with him being so raw hes capable of so much playmaking on both ends.

I think he takes Niangs minutes (maybe even his roster spot) by the end of the year.

Zion weighs 280 lbs.
Lebron weighs 250 lbs.
Al Horford weighs 245 lbs.
Giannis weighs 240 lbs.
Kawhi weighs 230 lbs.

Sometimes you need a big strong dude to contain these guys.

Whilst I still think Jarell needs much, much more cooking time in the oven due to being so raw, the difference that I see between him and Grayson is that I always thought Grayson looked like a boy amongst men, especially when defending. Jarell looks like a man.

Now some of us have said, he's a big body that we can throw at the Lebrons', Giannis', Zions', etc. But lets be real, he probably won't ever get the chance to do so in a real competitive setting, outside of preseason. And if he does, something truly awful has happened. *Knock on wood that it doesnt*

I am though totally all in with having him as our new crush, just like Niang was, and still is.

Hopeful on Brantley, but he's still so far away from contributing offensively (except maybe passing, though that needs a lot of refining).

His shot could come around. But I worry far more about no first step (can't really get past anyone), and no ability (shown yet) to finish at the rim in traffic. He'll jump high at times, but that ability isn't helping him put the ball through the rim.

Not sure about that. He can get in the paint and get shots at the rim. He was fouled by Jaxson Hayes on a play late in the 4th quarter last night, but it wasn't called. He also drilled a 3-pt shot in the game against the Bucks.

His handle prevented him from establishing really good court positions, and where he truly wanted to be positionally, due to it being unfortunately loose yesterday.

This dude doesn't look raw to me. I honestly don't think he would stick out playing in a lineup with Joe Dante Green and Davis at all. He would get minutes the way Royce initially got minutes-- he always looked to pass up a decent look for a great look every time he got the ball on the perimeter, and he would make drives with the full intention of kicking it out the second the defence collapses.
