The Conley Conundrum

Joe wasn't in a slump, he's a system player that needs good pieces around him to work with. Conley had that benefit all season and still sucked, so I don't see the comparison.
joe work perfectly with Quin's system of psedo point guards. he can handle the ball on a possession by possession basis but also run off-ball just as effective. Conley is not a psedo point guard, he's a true point guard who needs the ball in his hand to run the entire offense, but Quin's offense just doesn't run through one single player. Had Sloan still been the coach, Conley probably would've been fine. but we simply don't play that oldschool style of basketball any more.

Trade Conley he didn’t want to be here. Hasn’t played like he wants to be here. Doesn’t look like his game skills fit here. All the other contenders see the jazz rising so you know they will add a good player to their teams. And finally we could use another piece that fits where we are going

So brings us back to the part of saying "what the hell was DL thinking" bringing in Conley, knowing DM and Ingles would be handling the ball equally as much.

miscommunication between him and Quin. no way else to explain it. Quin should know just exactly the type of player he needs in a PG, and Conley is everything opposite of that except for shooting. but wouldn't anyone suggest that 31mil a year is kinda expansive for a shooter.

If Conley opts in, then you do the 5 year stretch option and let him sign elsewhere. This frees up money for a Max player and money for Royce.

If ever the Jazz were in a position to swing for the fence and have a legit chance at a ring , it’s doing something with Conley , and getting the right pieces back .

I wasn’t to concerned about what he offered on offence ... but his defence on the pick and roll was horrible ... he’d get broken down every time which would commit others to help out and thus leave someone open for an easy look .

DL , zanik or whoever is in charge won’t pull the trigger , they are to stubborn and Weill give Conley the season , thinking that if he doesn’t work , his expiring contract will be easy to offload ..

Think about a Love for Conley swap ...

Gobert - Love - Bogey - Ingles - Mitchell , it’s a damn good lineup

It would be fantastic to flip him for a piece that fits better. We are seeing that the 2-headed dragon of DM and jingles is the point guard we always needed and is the most effective guard lineup we've had yet, and that our big hole is at PF/C where we need someone who can give us decent rebounding, passable D, and the ability to take backup C minutes as needed, with some distance shooting as icing on the cake. Funny thing is that favors on our bench would make us far more dangerous than Conley will in the long run. But with our FO we will not see any moves involving Conley this year. They will stubbornly latch on like a rage-blinded weaponized pit-bull and not let go regardless of any evidence or detriment to the team.

To be fair, I doubt many teams are breaking down our door looking to add an aging oft-injured, undersized PG who is showing signs of losing a step while on a horrendous contract.

In short, we're stuck with what we got.

Unfortunately, that is probably the case.

Now that Davis is out for the Lakers with an injury, the Jazz have more than a decent chance of catching and passing the Lakers for the best record in the league! Our schedule is weaker than instant tea and we're playing better basketball every week!

So tell me more about Justin Zanik's GM track record, and why you believe he's as stubborn and dumb as you are suggesting here.

Davis won't be out for a long time, they announced that it's nothing serious.

The next two tough games we play are against Dallas and Houston and we play both of those games in Utah! We may end up running up big winning streak and catching the Lakers for the best record in the league!

How is it possible without Flavors, Crowley and Ricardo?

Wanna bet on it? I'll bet they do nothing with Conley until the end of the season at earliest. You bet he'll move Conley for another asset before the trade deadline. Ok?

if you’re not confident enough to explain your rationale, or come up with good points on this matter, it’s perfectly fine to simply admit so without pulling out your wallet as if it were your dick.

So you are afraid to put your money where your mouth is? The rationale is that it isn't zanik's decision by himself and we already have plenty of precedent of the organization being averse to moving an investment, as in exum. And of course no one knows their thoughts entirely so I could be wrong, but I'm willing to bet that I'm not wrong.

And why did your thoughts immediately go to money and dicks? That you side-hustle?
