The Debates

I don't mind rude and condescending posts, but I try to make sure I at least have my facts somewhat straight. I came in here early and often conceding a victory for Biden, so your post, which was clearly in response to one of mine, was simply factually incorrect. No biggie, but you don't gotta be a dick about it, too.

That is Thrillers entire point. To act like an immature dick and spout liberal ********.

He does not care for rational, respectful discussion. he wants to tear down and humiliate. In doing so he has earned the reputation of being the hack/dick that he is.

So you're claiming most liberals think Ryan won then? LOL!

Who let this guy in?!

Yeah I do not see that either. I think each base thinks their side won and any undecideds are still mostly up in the air.

I guess I get that, even if I don't really understand the purpose..

I'm still of the opinion that it was a decent win for Biden. No landslide, but not a tossup, either.

I'd give a narrow win to Biden. If Biden had shown a little more pose and toned down the "malarkey" he would have had a bigger win.

wah wah

And the incessant complaining about Biden's interrupting just sounds like sour grapes.

It's simple:

1) We have a guy that has polarized politics further than any time before. Nothing has improved.

2) We have a guy that was governor in a state where 87% of legislators were not of his party. He got things done. His whole career is fixing failing companies. The economy and country is failing.

Duh. Come on people, use your brains.

I know dog, telling us, "you're either with us or against us" was pretty polarizing. Along with passing NCLB, the Pat Act, and sending us to 2 wars. So polarizing.

Wait...some of you still have doubts? Holy ****.

I understand it. I think it is beyond stupid but I understand it.

Like this, Stoked?

Thanks for pointing it out, I see it better now.

Lol, exactly. You, and the majority here, saw it all along but y'all wanted to hold on to "hope and change" for him. I knew what he was a long time ago.

A WIN means that you convinced people who weren't going to vote for you before to vote for you now. Biden acting as the quintessential obnoxious liberal did not accomplish this.

Women and independents didn't like how Biden acted. Those are the very people each side is targeting so this was a big loss for Biden in that respect.

I don't think so Tim.

The majority of 431 undecided voters would disagree with you.

Biden did destroy Ryan. We'll knew for sure when the polls show the Romney surge has stopped.

The CNN poll shows Ryan won, other polls show Biden won. I dont think you can say Ryan was "destroyed" when polls are showing otherwise.

I think it was fairly even. I give a slight edge Ryan only because the majority of the country is talking about Biden's smirks and smiles.

Now if you really wanna see an *** KICKING go rewatch last week's presidential debate.

So you don't feel like anyone is using Biden's manners as a scapegoat for Ryan's loss?

Of course some are. I generally felt like Biden had a better overall grasp on the facts and figures.. I was attempting to look past the over-animation.
I'm sincerely unsure what independents saw. While watching the debate, I thought it was a bigger win for Biden than what is being reported.. but as I said, I don't know how much of the norm I represent.

See that is the thing right there. If Biden had stopped distracting from everything, even his own message, with his drama queen act then he would have been seen as clear winner. No landlside or *** kicking like the last debate but a clear winner. Biden was his own worst enemy.

I just do not see Ryan as ever being great on a debate stage. eh is smart and can hold his own but he lacks the charisma that you need to be great at debating. Biden has that but messed it up.

What the hell are you talking about? CNN shows 61% to 39% in favor of Joe Biden on their frontpage poll. https://www.cnn.com/

In my best beantown voice; "Damn fact-checkers!"

good post

Which was exactly my point. I'm sorry if you felt like I was specifically using you as the example. But many on FB and on this board are using Biden's interrupting as a scapegoat for whatever "loss" they felt Ryan took last night.

personally, I think Biden won and showed that he isn't some crazy drunk. Ryan meanwhile, didn't completely get destroyed and pull a Palin. Ultimately, they both accomplished what they needed to:

A. Biden needed to stop the bleeding that Romney inflicted on Obama's campaign.
B. Ryan needed to avoid screwing things up.

Both did that. Biden "struck" back and slowed the Mitt Train. Now if Obama can pull a tie or win the next debate, he's back in business. Ryan accomplished what he needed to. Had he won the debate, Obama's reelection campaign would be in big trouble.

Biden won... Big. But he needed to.

Ryan lost... Big. But he wasn't sunk like Palin. Had he just been destroyed and looked like a complete idiot (like Palin) Romney would be in trouble.

So it's allllll good.
