What's new

The Debates

Housing construction up, and unemployment down.

Imagine what we could do with a united congress, and no extremists.

Well I hate to say I told you so......(actually I love saying it)

Dispatches from the print media:

Obama more aggressive

Obama goes on attack

Obama more assertive

Obama rebounds

Obama fiesty.

Obama forceful

While, overall, there may not have been decisive winner, the prevailing narrative leans heavily in Obama's favor due merely to the fact that he did better this time around. If Obama showed up in the first debate, NONE of these superlatives would need to be mentioned. In other words, exactly what I said would happen.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to stop typing so I can continue patting myself on the back.

Man if only. We both know that is a pipe dream though.

For me personally I look at the "other" unemployment number.

God I want a person to run for office that is no BS and gives straight answers. I'd probably vote for them regardless of if I agree or not. At least I would know they are honest and know where they stand.

Don't you have other things to do like working on your plans to burn your house down?

Yes, I can list a good number of articles that point to Obama winning. This goes to show you that the media is portraying a mixed bag. Not a landslide for either man. So no you are not totally right. Just partially.

You are right we'll never have a utopia camp fire sing a long dream. I do think we can get closer to the middle, and wipe
out extreme views. The idiots that called Bush Hitler, and the extremists now on the right. They aren't helping anything.
Voting for Obama should force the tea party movement away as it will be a major defeat for their agenda. At least trying to go
through the Republicans. I wouldn't mind a real tea party withtheir core values, with out all the stupid attacks.

The Obama is a muslim, not american, against america was horrible for this country, and did nothing to help us recover.
I believe it forced a lot of people to side against the President on everything, and no one wanted to be seen with the "radical communist".
Look at some of the moderates that got pushed out. That was horrible for this country. At a time when we need to all move to the center,
and come together as a nation one party was going out of their way to demonize the President. What he needed was some support, and real debate.
The idiots figure heads on the right have made this whole election a joke. Donald Trump is a key figure in their party? Santorum? Bachmann?
Dear heavens is that the best they have? I can see why Romney rose to the crop from those clowns.

Hello kettle.

LOL - perfect? Obama has set the bar so low that doing virtually anything to illustrate the fact that he has a pulse will send the media into a frenzy about Obama's big comeback performance.

And as I said earlier - that was probably the plan all along.

It won't matter. All the stories will be about how much better Obama did this time around. When GWB showed up clueless for his first debate with Kerry, the media killed him, and rightfully so. When they had the second debate (also Town Hall format) he was much more animated. All the stories were about how much better Bush did. Nothing about substance or what he actually said - it was all about how Bush showed up this time.

This may be a hard concept for many of you to grasp; but it's like when you go on a first date with a girl, you never show up with candy and roses and jewelry. Then you have no where to go from there - you've set the bar too high. What you do is show up at her house, throw your jacket on the floor, turn on Spike TV, tell her to get you a beer and then fall asleep on her couch around 9:30. Then on the second date, you take her out for pizza and a movie and she'll think you're the greatest guy in the world.

Look, I can go on; but I won't. Just check out all the talking heads around 10PM tonight and see what they're all saying. Then you'll know candrew was right.....again.

Well I hate to say I told you so......(actually I love saying it)

Let me get this straight.
Obama acted like a liberal slob on purpose for his first date with the American people so he would look better on the second date.
The problem with that supposed strategy is that the American people saw the liberal slob they were dating and they compared him with the new hotness trying to woo them and he looked like Prince Charming comparatively so liberal slob got dumped on his *** for new hotness and they ain't looking back.

He didn't fail the first debate on purpose, but he did learn from his failures and watching Joe Biden but I think it is too late. The American people are sick of the liberal slob.

Why did the Obama Administration turn it into a political football in the first place?

The charge is that you are playing one-sided gotcha
politics, thus your opinion is not worth reading.

Unless I am mistaken it was the Romney campaign who began accusing the white house of apologizing for the attacks while they were still happening, and has been running with it ever since. Also, what the **** is one sided gotcha politics? Is that code for disagreeing with someone?

Sounds like the kind of hustle and skill that the Jazz could use -- particularly the rebounding. Can we sign him to a 10-day for further eval? Mods, please move to Utah Jazz forum.

I know threads have been moved out of the Jazz forum due to being taken off topic, but I haven't seen a thread become Jazz-related to the point of it being moved to the Jazz forum.
